Vampire Weekend was the HUGE indie winner of the Super Bowl commercial war

Vampire Weekend has had their songs in commercials before, but now it seems like their hit song "Campus" was used to serve as 'exciting background music' for the trailer to The Lorax, which I believe is one of those Dr. Seuss books that is about kids doing drugs or having sex, or something. I'm pretty sure every 'classic children's book' was actually sorta dark and/or written by a Penn-State-wave bro who hated the world, but loved young children.

Anyways, it is great to hear the riffs of a song abt Ivy League romance in a children's movie trailer. Sometimes I wish I went to a top tier school and got 2 'check out hot pussie' across campus, but then I'd just go eat in the 'poor ppl' cafeteria bc it is all that my financial aid gave me and I wouldn't get the chance to date one of the premium off-campus hotties who only showed up to school 2 days a week (evenings).

Speaking of SUPER BOWL commercials enabling the oversharing of wannabe viral videos that no1 really cares abt that inspire critical analysis abt art+commerce+authenticity, I will never get tired of 'ripping' on that band OK Go. They first went 'viral' with a decent-idea of a viral video before 'viral videos' even existed because their video was one of the first 'widely shared Youtube vids ever.' Then, they stopped making money because no one even bought their albums cuz their music doesn't even make sense. Now that have become the 'viral video band,' and all of their videos are 'trying desperately to 'go viral.' Since no1 likes/listens to their music, the only thing that they can sell is sponsorship in one of their videos. Don't they look kewl in this tiny lil Chevrolet?

U gotta feel bad for OK GO. they are stuck making viral videos forever, and no one will ever go see them play live, because fans will be like 'this doesn't feel viral enough!' It's just funny how their first viral video as 'progressive', but now they are trapped 'playing the same game' that every1 else does. I'm not even sure if that 'commercial' had a real song.

What was ur fave Super Bowl indie commercial?
Did Chevrolet 'eff up' by using a band that no1 cares abt?
SHould indie bands abstain from participating in the Super Bowl until they are offered a headlining spot?
Will M.I.A.'s antics get indie artists banned forever?
Are commercials 4 lamestreamers?
Does n e 1 even care abt The Darkness?
