PONEY PONEY is Antoine Hilaire, Samuel Nicolas and Florent Lyonnet. They are three dudes who are churning out hits in Paris, France. I think they have a pretty dynamic sound. It’s basically pop music that doesn’t blatantly rip off what’s hot right now. Their music has been produced by JUSTICE and SODA POP KID.
Expect Poney Poney to be blogged about pretty hard once they release more studio tracks later this year.
And they also have an aesthetically pleasing myspace blog, with a great series of GIFs in their ‘View More Pictures” arsenal.

If you want to read something more substantial about the band, check out their spread in Pimp Guides eMagazine (pages 14 &15). It’s a pretty good eMagazine, too.
Here’s a great paragraph from the article:
But what do they think of the ever-growing and slightly stereotypical Parisian sound? “Some bands are great, truly amazing,” muses Antoine. “But yes, unfortunately, distorted bass lines and ‘I just bought a Mac’ tracks are very fashionable these days. Those kids don’t get that Ed Banger artists are, above all, song writers and talented producers and that you need to focus on having your own style rather than caricaturing the best acts. Jusice copycats are everwhere, not only in Paris.”
Haven’t we all heard a bit too many ‘I Just Bought a Mac’ tracks?
