Celebrity Created Lunchboxes Are Great For Every One

There’s this charity auction of lunchboxes designed by celebrities. While it is for a good cause, it also gives us an opportunity to see what happens when our favourite celebrities are asked to design something.

Pitchfork Seyz:

Kanye West, David Bowie, Cat Power, Interpol, the Beastie Boys, Bright Eyes, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Yoko Ono, Michael Stipe, Rufus Wainwright, Lily Allen, TV on the Radio, Courtney Love, Patti Smith, and Scissor Sisters among many others (including lots of famous Hollywood types), have all decorated pails for this year’s Lunchbox Auction, an online charity auction for hunger relief in New York City and South Africa.

Here’s a look at some of the Lunchboxes designed in 2005.

Lunchbox by Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton probably should have hired a more creative intern to make his lunch box.

Lunchbox by Bono

I’m sure this lunchbox matches some rich dude’s PROJECT RED Motorola Razr and PROJECT RED iPod Nano.

Lunchbox by Liv Tyler

Liv made the most of her $25 Hobby Lobby gift certificate.

Lunchbox by Connor Oberst (Bright Eyes)

If I were a 14 year old boy falling out of love for the first time, I could probably appreciate something about the earnestness of this lunchbox.

Lunchbox by Maggie Gyllenhaal

The self-proclaimed ‘crafty’ girl from your art class who thinks her work is deep, but is ultimately just pretty tacky.

Lunchbox by Hillary Swank

After taking on so many masculine roles, it’s nice to see that Hillary Swank decided to show off her girlie side.

Lunchbox by Kate Spade

Most of the female celebrities probably should have consulted with Kate Spade in order to achieve their desired aesthetic.

Lunchbox by Interpol

Interpol’s lunchbox conveys about as much as Interpol lyrics.

If you are rich and want to have a lunchbox designed by your favourite musician/actor/celebrity, then you should probably visit these sites.

The Lunchbox Auction

The Lunchbox Fund targets the poorest children and schools and provides them with nutritional meals. Typically the children are fed peanut butter and/or jam sandwiches on whole wheat bread with a piece of fresh fruit daily. For some of these children, that may be their only meal of the day.
