I’m sure every one is familiar with So Me. He’s the dude who does the ART for all things Ed Banger. So whether it’s the breakthrough video for “D.A.N.C.E.” or the “DVNO” video, it’s pretty evident that So Me’s a pretty effective artist.
Anyways, maybe you had heard about his studio show in Toronto.

I’m one of the most critical people in the world, but is it safe to say that SO ME’s work is extremely visually and conceptually satisfying?

Sometimes I wonder if SO ME should leave Ed Banger Records, and work for only Fortune 500 companies.
As demonstrated by the video made for Justice’s “DVNO,” his corporate identity skills are second to none.
And remember that time Kanye West had SO ME make a video for him after Kanye got really into Justice & Daft Punk?

So Me is good, don’t get me wrong, but he definitely steals the spotlight in certain aspects. Justice’s D.A.N.C.E. video and Kanye’s Good Life were drawn up by So Me, but the video and animations were brought to life by 2 directors named Jonas and Francois (same with the Ed Rec Vol 2 snippet with the animated album sleeves.)

Same with the DVNO video. The idea is so fucking great. So Me is a visual sampler. BUT, MachineMolle actually did the 3D and motion animation for the video.

definitely with brian savage on that one. jonas and francois did the animating/direction for the ed banger vol. 2 promo video too. so me is great, but never figured out how much he actually animates.
graphic design wise though i really like him, he knows how to work cultural references.
