One of the best/worst things about the lowered costs of digital cameras and video editing software is the ability for any one to piece together a web-based ‘television show’ish thingy where some of your favourite bands have to pretend that they are being interviewed by an MTV VJ circa 1995. These segments come complete with swirly graphics, an original intro, and even a customized microphone, with which the interviewer can ask you questions about your band that they formulated with wikipedia.
I think you can tell a lot about how much you should allow yourself to like a band by the way that they handle being interviewed by some one who obviously doesn’t know their music, and more importantly, by the way they handle being asked to ‘do a shout out.’

They are like this in any interview regardless of whether the person talking to them knows their music or not.
