Hey are you going to buy the new CUT COPY album?
It’s always exciting when a band that has the conceptual fortitude to execute an entire album comes out with a new product.
I feel like if someone embedded an iTunes application in my head, Cut Copy would probably be one of the bands that dominated the Lifetime Top 25 Most Played Playlist. Their previous album Bright Like Neon Love is probably one of the most accessible albums, when it comes to ‘people who are about to start listening to way too much electronic music.’ I remember when they released the single for “So Haunted” a while ago, and I didn’t really appreciate it without the context of the whole album.
Don’t you consider the song “Saturdays” by Cut Copy to be one of the all-time great songs that EVERYBODY appreciates? In terms of pop-appeal, I’d say it’s in the same league as Daft Punk’s “One More Time,” except you can kind of understand when people HATE that song.

The Field or Sidechains should remix Feel The Love, So Haunted or Hearts On Fire. YOU should take away the vocals from Out There On The Ice and remix it!

In Ghost Colours is a most appropriate album to sit home smoking weed and reading blogs to while listening to it on headphones. But it’s also a fantastic album to sit on club toilets with no seats doing cocaine with alternative sluts to. It’s this versatility that ensures that Cut Copy is about to make it BIG in 2k8. By the end of the year they will have fucking BOUGHT Myspace.

whether you like it or not, bangers is quickly becoming an empire, and a large portion of the music they put out is more than decent, if not somewhat redundant and incestuous.
this cut copy album goes right next to junior boys’ “so this is goodbye” and hot chip’s “the warning,” not in terms of stylistic finesse, but mostly because the level of interest they evoke on first listen. i can see this album being a grower. but will i have enough time to listen to it enough when i have so many rmxs to learn about?
