I've never seen the nautical star tattoo executed like this. While I usually see it on the wrists of 'dudes who look like they are in an alternative local band that makes music that sounds like what was popular in alt-rock 7 years ago', I've never seen 3 chest tattoos of these stars.

Most people seem to opt for the Mexican-cursive styled chest tattoos, like the font that you'd see airbrushed on a 16 year old Mexican girl's personalized t shirt. I respect people with innovative chest tattoos.
I guess that begs the question...is being 'an airbrushed tshirt artist' a gateway job towards 'being a tattoo artist?' Or is it a gateway job towards 'being a dude on a street corner who makes interplanetary 3d art while crowds of tourist drool over his 'skills' '?

Star tattoos are ways for people to say they are in the same social group. Like the dude with the hemp necklace looking for dope-dependant peoples with other hemp necklaces, the starred person will flock to his or her peoples - wide banded watch at the ready, perhaps a "hardcore" belt around the waist, and a small Fidel Castro Hat... I give them some credit, at least they know how to play the game, it just seem that so many with star tattoos are a bit selfish.
