I'm trying to diversify my audience, so I guess I'll blog abt HIPHOP/RAP/Hipster Rap/Mainstream Rap Marketed to Alternative Audiences.

What's the deal with KID SISTER? I just know she had that one video with Kanye West about finger nails, then that one song with the Count & Sinden about hitting her on her beeper, then she landed her finest music video in a LOGO Online public service announcement to end violence amongst gays, bis, transgendered, and other miscellaneous alternative sexualities.

I wonder why she picked the name KID SISTER.

Maybe it's because of this new music video, [featuring My Buddy].

Maybe it's just me, but I don't know if it's a good idea for a rapper/MC to pick the name of a [highly recognizable] toy that was marketed to your target demographic when they were kids. I think it would kind of be like naming yourself:

• the Hungry Hungry Hippos
• Crossfire
• Connect Four
• Electronic Battleship

Naming yourself after a popular late 80s/early 90s product that had a memorable commercial is a strategy that 'a local band that every one makes fun of' might utilize.
