The "MSTRKRFT can 'fix' any song" Theory
The page you requested does not exist. A search for mstrkrft can fix any song theory resulted in this page.

I was watching this MSTRKRFT interview which features some good insights into their brand, creative process, and showcases some of the best & worst habits of alternative celebrities.

At the 4:20 mark in the video, the MSTRKRFT bros start talking about remixes, and go pretty in depth into their remixable criteria manifesto.

Do you enjoy MSTRKRFT Remixes? I've read a few HRO comments about songs or the way people look that say "I think this would be better if MSTRKRFT remixed it." Do you buy into the theory that MSTRKRFT can fix any thing?

I've never been particularly into their originals, but I think they are probably pretty socially relevant in terms of 'being a 2 man electro act that was a pioneer in learning how to capture the hearts of Generation Y clubgoers.' When it comes to modern indie music, I think they might be one of the band/producers most responsible for 'Americanizing' the current state of electro-club-dance stuff.

Whenever I hear a MSTRKRFT songs, I end up somewhere within this range of conclusions:
BAD CONCLUSION: "Why do people like MSTRKRFT so much?"
OKAY CONCLUSION: "I don't 'get' this, but it's probably really good if I knew a lot about the history of electronic music."
GOOD CONCLUSION: "This is pretty good."

How to you feel about MSTRKRFT's body of remix work. Do u wish they stuck to remixing lesser-known bands like Metric or New Young Pony Club? Or do you like this new phase where they are remixing Usher, Jesse McCartney, and who knows who else within the next 2 years? As alternative markets continue to transition into mainstream markets, MSTRKRFT could continue to be a critical intermediary between both worlds.

If some1 could remix your life, who would it be?

MSTRKRFT can fix anything, including this blog.

Anonymous's picture

C'mon Carles, no link to the shoe?! I need to flesh out my alt-bro wardrobe with that ish.

Anonymous's picture

i want jane fonda to remix my life.

Anonymous's picture

They've gone downhill fucking fast in the last 6 months... VuVuVu and Bounce have got way too much going on in them... and whats with some shit voice over at the start of their current tracks saying "This is MSTRKRFT"?... Don't get me wrong they are a decent duo live, and Monster Hospital is a banger and their remixes to D.A.N.C.E and Woman are amazing and there early stuff like Street Justice and Work On You are amazing but i don't have a clue why they are going in a slightly different direction of a more harder, heavier, more distorted sound, when they had a winning formula... Yes they are pioneers, but i think there are producers and bands that are miles ahead of them right now...

Anonymous's picture

I would B my L if I watched a Justice video while listening to a MSTRKRFT remix!

Anonymous's picture

Street Justice and Work On You yeah, were a cooler sound. I think that's when they were perhaps more "european" if you will.. now they are perhaps americanizing things with their BNGR-ISMS and america electro indie people sure <3 their BANGRSSSSS. I think that started really coming out in more remixes they were doing. boring now, they were cool but their sound changed a bit like someone else said.. they're like a more comodotized (spelling oops) electronic music act that you can still kind of like because production is good and dance floor structure good. plus it seems and they're all business which I guess one could appreciate but it's not my thing. artistz rulz

Kinetic form's picture

as long as they have mustaches, masterkrafty will rule the world.maybe their kids vndlsm will take over when they are old

Rob's picture

They know how to turn some shit into gold.Loves em!

Fluffy's picture

Americanize? They're Canadians! psha.

CRIMINAL CASTLE's picture

their latest stuff definitely cannot compare to their old stuff. except the kylie remix, which is so fucking good.even though I have the jesse mccartney remix, I draw the line at downloading usher because people actually like him, but jesse mccartney is a joke.

Anonymous's picture

Americanize as in the crap Americanized BNGRZ scene, which is again total crap compared to 100 years ago when france had good bngrz

Anonymous's picture

i mean think about it. what does it really matter? they are gonna keep doing what they want and go in the direction they wanna go. if people like it, then they like it. if they dont then they dont. fuck it. and p.s. - mustaches are homo. even though i have one, and im a girl

D-Neon's picture

MSTRKRFT is helping pop music evolve.

Anonymous's picture

the usher rmx has renewed my faith in my countrymen..but JFK solo rmxs are TOPS. BIG UP JESSE MCCARTNEY!!!

Anonymous's picture

I saw Adam from the Chromatics making out with JFK's wife once.

Getback Skeeza's picture

I agree with some of the other posters, MSTRKRFT hasn't had a hot remix since the Kylie Minogue track, their remix quality is definitely sliding. Best thing about there live act is how they guzzle Crown Royal straight from the bottle. Alt bros know how to party like rockstars too.

Anonymous's picture

masterkraft only really do remixes. their own shit is wack, plus these shoes look good but they're a really small fit.

tonijo's picture

that metric remix is pretty damn goodi don't like everything, but i certainly like that(also i am waiting for the MSTRKRFT lunch box + thermos combo)

Anonymous's picture

who in gay hell is jesse mccartney?

somehipster's picture

i agreee..MSTRKRFT COULD FIX ANYTHING.oh. and i would have STEVE AOKI REMIX MY LIFE.!

Anonymous's picture

you know who sucks? la riots

just a fan of "sounds"'s picture

LO-muthafuckin-L!when you hear hand claps, it's us clapping!FOLEY ARTISTRY rears its head once more.

Anonymous's picture

so like MSTRKRFT has rlly lost their edge. i think itz time we all mvd on from dem. they'd probably be really awesome in bed tho, alt bros w/ staches r sex deities.

Anonymous's picture

MSTRKRFT can fix anything except Usher. Kill the Noise or Danger can remix my life

Anonymous's picture

is MSTRKRFT going to be at DEMF this year?

Anonymous's picture

Hahahaha LA Riots really sucks!

heeepster.'s picture

Hahaha MSTRKRFT are a bunch of dbagsJesse McCartney, wtf?

TeresaElectro's picture

They can almost fix anything, including that Jesse McCartney track!Still, I got no love for that Usher track. Go back to remixing indie rock and pop hits, tread lightly with the hip-hop tracks.Still, "Monster Hospital" introduced me to MSTRKRFT and I'd say I'm the better for it.ps. that shoe is whack

Anonymous's picture

big up to that anonymous that pointed out that la riots suck. it was about time someone has the guts to say that. damn, i really don't get them. why is everybody all over them? there must be something about their work, but all i can hear when i hear an la riots remix is complete shit.mstrkrft start to to ride that banger bandwagon they kind of created themselves with less distorted, less annoying tracks back in 2006/2007 so that's ok.but la riots... no honestly, can anyone please tell me what it is that makes them so uber cool?and then i'd like diplo to make a mash up of my life and the life of steve aoki, please.

Anonymous's picture

MSTRKRFT CAN fix anything. As for a life remix, I'll let the Bloody Beetroots work on me.

Anonymous's picture

Best shoe by a band is the Dinosaur Jr. Nike Dunks.

Anonymous's picture

Some of their remixes are good and I like Vuvuvu, I think Bounce is garbage. MSTRKRFT are getting overrated, and I seriously hope the buck stops here with these mainstream artist remixes. The Usher remix was boring...and I seriously hope they focus on their own stuff rather then remixes, because "The Looks" was mediocre at best. Good luck, MSTRKRFT and for fucks sake, shave the 'staches.

Anonymous's picture

i love mstrkrft.canadians=]

Anonymous's picture

Dj Yoda can fucking mix my life up

Anonymous's picture

" la riots... no honestly, can anyone please tell me what it is that makes them so uber cool?"they were probably doing another type of music and are just trying to take adv. of the current scene... I hate that. it's fake and so made up. therefore, no soul in the sound. the name itself is so stupid

Anonymous's picture

those are the mmmmmarshest shoes ive never seen and IM FUCKING BLIND

Anonymous's picture

So I guess I'm the first to notice the piano section from "Layla" on this track. Just earned some points with me. I think it's pretty sick.

Anonymous's picture

Alls I have to say is JFK is looking chubs. I wish Kraftwerk would come to Tulsa and change my life....

Adam's picture

i liked the tegan and sara shoe a lot more, if we're talking about alternative celebrity endorsed shoes... at least until the cory kennedy/cobrasnake/nylon shoe comes out in five minutes.

Daniel G's picture

The interviewer is clearly British.

thepassingstatic's picture

so who's a bigger douche: the guy going on about his god complex... or the guy fucking rotating a shoe while doing a youtube interview?even though they seem like lame people to hang out with, they make some solid music. i would say their hit rate is 60% tops though. not everything they do is gold.

Anonymous's picture

Its not THE best one, but its an amazing one, and i own a pair :)

ACID JACKS's picture

anyone here know how to put together an IKEA origami lamp?

Lazaro Casanova's picture

anyone here know how to make a jackmaster fiesta remix?

Anonymous's picture

old men.

Anonymous's picture

"it's gotta have a hook." what so you can beat jack and add a 4/4 to substantiate your existence?

Anonymous's picture

dear morons,1. The Usher song was boring originally. They made it BETTER, and it's undeniably fun and feel-good.2. They (MSTRKRFT) know more about dance music than you so it isn't 'beat-jacked' but rather influenced.3. GET A REAL FUCKING JOB, HIPSTER.4. Chicago<3you people are goddamn delusional.

Anonymous's picture

anybody have the remix of jesse mccartney? i can't find it for shit

David's picture

Hi there, David from Hobnox here. Just to give you the heads up on a cool interview with MSTRKRFT on our music channel Sly-Fi. Click the following link http://sly-fi.hobnox.com/index.html?episode=1246 to see them talking about bringing the punk into disco.Cheers, David

i think DJ Sega would have done a better job remixing this song. i like the original version's beat just fine. DJ Sega does a lot better job remixing the big hip-pop hits with his heart-pounding bass rhythms. lets hope mstrkrft sticks to what they do best - pop/electro/indie hit remixes. oh yeah and i'd like diplo to do a mash-up of my life but with cobrasnake yardsale clothing worn at every stage + cory kennedy giving me my first blowj*b.

Anonymous's picture

at mexicali... they slacked... played yawning... filled the bill. hah, i love money too, mstrkrft for the third world!!

joseph's picture

fyi their new remix of "Green Light" is unbelievable. end blahg

Bella's picture

Anything MSTRKRFT touches turns to gold. Instantly.

adam's picture

get a brain people... using other peoples' music as your framework is not what constitutes an artist. there is nothing remotely genuine or innovative that they are doing.

alec's picture

Death From Above '79 is where JFK's talent lies, he can work a synth but not to any extraordinary extent. Makes catchy and fun club/party tracks but lacks innovation. Many electronic artists can put it together much better for performance sets.
