I think generic accessories such as wristbands, necklaces, or sunglasses are sort of like Level 1 "LOOK @ ME" Props. It's always important to take your LOOK @ ME factor the at least level 3. Making your own prop makes it clear that you are 300% deliberate about creating your personal brand.
