a scene kid typically listens to emo/screamo/hardcore/metal. scene kids dress with tight jeans, band t-shirts, and band hoodies. the average scenester will have an outrageous haircut that requires far too much effort and the bangs are so long that they obstruct your vision like a pair of shutter shades. a scene kid lives in the suburbs and has no real alt interests, but is really just a tween aged crombie just starting on there path to altness.people who are alt or hipsters tend to be older, and more mature. more likely to live in a major urban center than a scene kid. they develop a more unique and individualized sense of style and venture beyond the standard jeans and band t of the scene kid.what it comes down to:scene kids are a bunch of suburban tweens looking to be different who listen to bad hardcore (not the good stuff we all love from the nineties)if you're reading this blog you're alt/ a hipster.

scene kids range in age from 11-14, depending on how late you jumped on the band wagon. they have zero sense of style, musically or fashionably, and are just copy cats of each other. looking up to people such as hanna beth and pete wentz, they are bound to live a horrible self loathing life...kkids who go to shows for the sole purpose of moshing fall in this category.whereas alt bros and hos live a fantastic lifestyle. we have a sense of style, know who we are, aren't afraid to do things. alts are more provocative. we know what's up (and down lulz). we don't mosh at shows because we actually respect the artist. we don't go to any ole show either. our circle of friends is diverse.

You are all dumb scenesters. The 'scene' does not always refer to the emo/post-hardcore/screamo scene. Someone is 'scene' if they are only concerned about being cool by the standards of a particular, musically driven subculture. It is important to note that the person must be considered reasonably cool and/or popular by these standards, is involved in events associated with that subculture and is usually very pretentious. Because of this pretentious elements, the word 'scene' can only be used to describe people of certain subcultures. Hipsters are scenesters.
