I think an advantage of having ELECTRO EARS is that you are more likely to appreciate high-end conceptual pop. Frankmusik is a great example of an artist in this genre. Basically, high end pop the kind of music that makes you wonder why popular mainstream pop acts don’t have these usually-European producers make their songs for them. Or usually it’s only a matter of time until a High End Pop act produces a forgotten track on a Brit Spears or Ashlee Simpson album.
I also feel like it’s the European/foreign females who utilize producers like KLEERUP (Lykke Li and Robyn) before Americans do it, so they have more ‘cred’ in alternative circles in an ‘authentic’ kind of way. For some reason I assume this is why Kyle Minogue is respected by ‘every one.’
You could make an argument that most bloghouse/electro music is ‘high end pop.’ U know…like mainstreamers drink Keystone Light and alts drink GreyGoose/Sparks/box wine…or a metaphor like that…
I read in a blog that Girl Talk is the only ALT who still listens to the FM radio.
Also, I am basically mesmerized by the kutie in Frankmusik’s “In Step” video. s0 curvie…

I am s0 glad that I can appreciate high-end pop, and people who don’t ‘get’ it probably just need to read m0re bl0gs that post progressive media that challenges us to be better connoisseurs of ‘the arts.’

Btw frankmusik is kind of weird? This other blog kept advertising them/him last year but their video was soooo weird/nondanceable/nontop40 that I kind of stopped trying. Is that bad?

Frankmusik makes a quality product, but is a horrible person. I saw him play live in this tiny pub in new cross last september and he was really rude, then stole my photos from my flickr and puty them on hios myspace with no credit so i mesged him and he was like yeah i will put a credit up then like a week later he still hadnt so i messaged him again and was a bit pissed off and then he replies saying he has a really busy schedule and he is busy starting flame wars with jefree star and there is no reason to be so rude to him it’s not easy being a high-end pop artist etc.
FUCK HIM.
as a result i am now not going to ever pay for his stuff but download it all off blogs.
