Remember when obnoxious people with ‘extroverted’ personalities tried to tell u that FAMILY GUY was ‘the future of comedy’, but then they ‘grew up a lil’ and decided to be into smartComedies like the Office, Judd Apatow films, and full seasons of canceled-but-’friggin-brilliant’ comedy series’.

HEY! i know you’re talking about Arrested Development when you say “canceled-but-’friggin-brilliant’ comedy series” and it IS friggin brilliant.
those tools over at fox cancelled it and have some great quality programming in its place now. such as “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?”, “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!”, and “The Next Great American Band.”

the altest cartoon was Fantastic Planny. When i saw it i was an entry-level alt on “mushrooms” and i “identified” with it and realized i had “found a group of ppl who would take care of me” through our journeys into obscure subcultures like “france.”

1. acknowledge the power of the arrested dev! you know you (openly? secretly?) luvvv it.
2. i decided to give the ole daria a whirl the other day and it wasn’t funny. at all. like maybe it was funny back in the day when “zomg sarcastic high school girl!” was like something interesting on its own, but it just doesn’t really do much these days.
3. so the simpsons is still on tv. so not really retro pur say, but sorta like if ally glass was wearing a miley cyrus shirt “itz funnie cuz she dusn’t rlly like miley cyrus lololol.” this reminds me of a guy i knew who wore a trucker hat “to make fun of ppl who wore trucker hats”…except at some point, duchebag mcsucksalot thinks you’re really just wearing the goddamn trucker hat (which you are) and thinks you look “cool.” there’s only so far we can push this lameass pomo shit. ally (whose tunes i still like!) is purty close to that “i’m doing it ironically but i’m still doing it” point. maybe she’s already there :P

It’s alt-iest not retro… I hate reality tv but I couldn’t get enough of “kenny vs. spenny”. Watched all 4 seasons in a row on the torrents. Where else are you going to see the push over and the narcisist bring out the worst in each other.. ok so where were we. arrested devolopment was great. six feet under, anything martin sargent for the geeky alt, the short lived oblongs and mission hill…. props for vintage nick….. oh and tim and eric is hit and miss… but when it hits it hits HARD… I could go on. And I swear I never watch tv.
