   in australia there’s always at least 5% who are oversized jocks wankers who insist on taking their shirts off, 5% who are decked head to toe in neon and mainstreamers make up about 40%. cool dads only 1%.

   I’ll second the venn diagram. For instance, if I didn’t totally resent festivals because I am too poor for both tickets and travel, I imagine I’d generally be wearing sunglasses, a band shirt, and taking notes on potential blog fodder.

    as well as minorities employed theres also a large representative of students in that pie slice who get a free ticket if the put in a few hours standing around “stewarding”. Uni students here always in debt yall (uk + glastonbury)
    what % if your a fully fledged alt bro and a minority/independant student employed for the festival.

    i only go 2 festivals if i have a photog pass or a sidestage/mainstage pass … i don’t like to be in the crowd w mnstrmrs/entry level alts.. 2 kewl 4 that.

    but since im important, i always have a sidestage/mainstage/photog pass and so i get to remain the princess i am and hang out w my fav bands

    ew, i went to my first one over the weekend in jersey city.

    i felt like a pathetic piece of shit, surrounded by all these losers.

    i bumped into some asshole fucking hippie who had a box full of glass pot-smoking-bowls or whatever (pot is so mainstream, ew) that he was selling, ACCIDENTALLY BECAUSE IT’S FUCKING CROWDED, and he says to me, “please don’t bump into me” all condescendingly, like, “i’m trying to sell these weed-smoking-devices.” WHAT A HIPPIE PIECE OF SHIT. fuck him, fuck all the other hippie geeks that we’re there. fuck radiohead, fuck all the other mainstream shit there. fuck seven dollar beers and only being allowed five.

    the only good thing about the day was animal collective.
