What’s Next After the ElectroBubble Bursts?

For the past .5 years, I have been trying to figure out what type of music will be [HIGHLY BLOGGABLE] after the electroBubble bursts.

This song, which is a HOLY FUCK cover of FOALS (2 bands I have never listened to until now) kind of get ‘conceptual’ in an authentic way. Reminds me of pre-blog era indie music from 2k2. Maybe instead of ‘dance parties’, we will go back to watching conceptual rock shows with underlying pop sensibilities. Back then, the audience would go to a show to stand there and ‘watch and listen and feel’ as many sounds and sights came at U. (This will be a new phenomenon to entryLevel Alts who are just searching for meaning in large groups of people/longing to be part of something bigger than themselves. They will embrace this new non-DancePartie format of consuming music, and it will symbolize their growth into post-EntryLevelAlts.)

Remember when _______ was the ‘indie conceptual-core flavor of the week’?
a) Animal Collective
b) Health
c) Sigur Ros
d) Ratatat music videos
e) Choose your own Conceptual Core Band

Designer Drugs are making a bunch of rad tracks lately. Their single is almost out there and their last few remixes were epic.

The Stop Button and their ilk might be it. White MC over classically trained musicians. Stand up bass, violin, oboe, and french horn, but with conscious lyrics. Ya digg?

My vote goes for ghettotech-influenced French house. Recently heard epic sets from Surkin and Feadz. So much better better then the recycled bngrs/dull disco-ish shit the local djs are “spinning”.
