Missin the past.

Dear The Past,
miss u. luv 2 get nostalgic and think abt u. it’s kinda meaningful. ttyl, i hope.
l0ve,
crls

****************

Kinda tired of blogging abt what’s ‘current’. Thought I might slow down & talk abt the past. I remember the days before I even knew what ‘alt’ was. I was just consumerCore. I was an innocent kid who wanted 2 b special. Maybe things never change. Just wanna be exposed 2 authentic products with which I can align my personal brand.

Remember when it was alternative 2 look like this?

(What’s My age again, yall?)

S0 glad I didn’t get ‘too darkhearted’ during my formative years. I think ‘pop sensibilities’ are just embedded deep within me. This is why I listen to bloghaus/electro.

I remember when merging rap & rock was the most innovative thing since Elvis/MichaelJackson/Daft Punk taught us how 2 dance.

Just wanna breathe into the microphone like an animal with guitars behind me. Wanna inspire kidz.

Should I go 2 jail? Should I get 3 cold beers for all of the men in my chain gang?

Is life still like a box of chocolates? Now that Obama is the President, could our nation still identify with a ’slow’ guy who lived the most meaningful life in the history of the world?

Was Joe Pesci better in ‘Home Alone’ or ‘My Cousin Vinny’?

///Wish I would step back from that ledge ////

Redefining authenticity.
Searching for meaning by re-examining the past.
Afraid 2 die//grow up.
Help//////////////////////

“I don’t want to wait for our lives 2 b over.”
-Paula Cole

What used 2 b meaningful 2 u that u hope u reDiscover again?

@caswell, I can’t be the only one that thinks he is a total douchebag… if his good album to crap album ratio was better than I might cut him some slack… but probability not. It’s just so easy to hate some bands… like coldplay. I love shitting on coldplay and I’m not sure why… their music isn’t that bad… it’s just the constant out pour of fake authenticity… that and they think they are Radiohead… and they are CLEARLY NOT… not even close. Not even Radiohead wishes they were Radiohead.

It’s the 90’s/early 2k’s on HRO… Please tell me they aren’t coming back… or is Obama planing something with an intern and a cigar that we don’t about yet?

@blackAlt>>>blipster, there LAST album was really quite good…the only one I listen to…. and I like boxcar racer…. and angels and airwaves but I’m embarrassed to tell people this…. no self respecting alt is allowed to let anyone know that they have anything remotely resembling emo on their iplayer.

I l8tr realized that all I really wanted in life was to see what drugs felt like and maybe get tugged in the club everyso often.

I think it’s just sick and wrong when people phycologicly warp their children… and they don’t even know it… they think they doing a “good” thing.

@anony, um early real world/road rules was very intriguing, they actually chose slightly interesting/intelligent people for the cast, unlike the majority of reality shows recently. and nsync’s first album was a pop masterpiece (mainly in part to the million dollar producers), i dont care if i seem uncool to admit that, its a fuck of a lot better than most of this cheesy REPETITIVE electro/BORING/indie BULLSHIT that people seem to think is hip and/or progressive.

@lame, point taken…. my other big “reality” TV embarrassment is kenny vs. spenny. I don’t find what they do all that entertaining, it’s all in their personalities and seeing how they act and respond to situations. It’s a classic pushover and narcissist… two people that absolutely bring out the worst personality traits of each other. It’s painful to watch…
