Martin Luther King Day

Happy Martin Luther King Day, yall (to all yall blipsters and non-blips). I had a great day off and spent some time using wifi in Central Park. It was kinda meaningful, but my battery eventually died and I ‘got a lil depressed’ about how wireless internet is ‘forever’ but battery power is not ‘forever.’ Hope Apple solves this problem in the next Macbook.

Moving forward, I just wanted to talk about what a great guy MLK was. He seemed like a pretty passionate bro. Think he learned about viral marketing/community organizing/political activism from Gandhi. Unfortunately, these tactics would not work in the modern world. U have to be able to ‘use the internet’ 2 convey ‘what ur all about’ by building websites/socialnetworks/twitters/other gimmick web communication services.

I sort of wonder if Barry Obama ‘could have made it’ before the internet existed to proliferate memes. I’m just saying, yall. MLK JR is a true bro. Not sure if Obama will be able to go from ‘being a viral meme’ to actually ‘leading a nation.’ If yall think about it, it would kind of be like electing Tay Zonday 2 office. U need to be more than just an ‘internet celebrity’ to lead our world. There’s more to life than Choco Rain Peanut Butt Jelly Time vlog candy vimeo youtube memes.

Sorry 2 get political on yall, just want u 2 realize that the internet has changed the way that we consume the world. Hope that our ‘economy’ gets better. What do yall HOPE 4?
SPARKS?

or OBAMMY?

Should we still be ‘hoping’ now that the campaign is over, or do we still need 2 ‘hope’? Just wondering. Kinda confused. :-(

i think barack obammy has a effing hard road ahead. it dont matter how much support he has cuz of the web, or that he graduated from harvard law, or that hes the first black pres – he has to pull the US out of the worst financial crisis since 1929. thats harsh yall. so if ppl support him cuz he has hot celebs singing songs for him courtesy of will i. am., good for him. hes gonna need all the support he can get. so ya, i am still hoping.

I’m still considering being a city councilman, but seriously, it’s a shitty shitty job and unless your in Chicago where unions & graft run rampant, there’s little pay.

I want you to encourage me to run for president.

We have all witnessed that NO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Oh, shit, I’m a minority; I guess experience is required.

    FUCK!

@AltCauc, don’t hate… You forget that Bush was governor for less than 2 years when it was decided he was going to run for prez…. Kennedy didn’t really have much experience either… Community organizing is relevant, just ask Ghandi/Jesus Christ

God, fuck Obama already. He was tiresome before he hit the national stage. I can’t believe so many people are drinking this Kool-Aid. It’s not cool to be so brainwashed.

Today is the first day I’ve been even remotely proud to be American. Even “progressive” countries like France haven’t even come close to breaking this barrier. This is fucking huge, I’m not sure if we truly understand the significance of what is happening today. Only in America can such a renewal come about, sans violence.

It feels like, for the past 8 years, I’ve been searching for meaning in meaningless world. That search is finally over.

Ever since your show began a short time ago, my stance on Los Angeles / Hollywood traffic has done a 180! Mondays used to be my least favorite days to drive to work, which is a mere 5 miles down sunset blvd from my home in Santa Monica to my office in West Hollywood, because this short distance can sometimes take an hour. There used to be a direct correlation between my level of road rage and the amount of time this Monday trek would take, but that has now completely reversed. Now I feel like longer is better for my Monday drive, because I get to listen and learn about all kinds of new incredible bands and remixes! So Thanks and Keep Up the Good Work, and Keep Being Yourself, it Works. ~johnny

    P.S.
I do wish some of your playlist was easier to find and download. Maybe you could provide links or something on your site, if you don’t already.
