Life used to be simple. Life used to be about bloggable mp3s. I used to be an mp3 blog. I used to be allowed to ‘like music’ and ‘get gimmick excited about it.’ Do yall think there’s still room for HRO to enjoy music, or am I too alt to enjoy music? How long have yall been reading HRO? Do yall remember when it was about the music, in the mainstream days of blog haus? Will HRO recover, discover ‘love’ and authentic appreciate for music again? Or is HRO just some lookbook childpredtroll bro?
Kinda worried. Just want 2 get authentic. Do yall think that 2k9 will be all about ‘the best electro rising to the top’ or will there be an electro backlash? Do yall still enjoy blog posts that focus on one artist? Have yall heard any good new music lately?
This is a song by Vega that reminds me of my ‘glory days.’ Back when I used to post Lifelike remixes or Breakbot songs and be excited.
These may or may not be the last days of bloggable electro. (WTF is ‘electro’?)

@world,
Bangers will die (Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, MSTRKRFT, Steve Asianoki, Ed Bangers).
Good electronic bands will never die (the new Animal Co, Cut Copies, New Orders Greatest Hits, Daft Punk Rock, Alice Glass and the Crystal Castles, Hipster Runoff Remixes). These are all safe.

I feel like your giving up and letting the nothing win.
there’s still hope in the resurgence of 2007ers (boys noize, justice, smd etc.) who are working on new music.
the new yuksek is great, i’m sure cornelius will be great, daft punk is probably somewhere working on something.
all this to say don’t give up on the style that got you so popular in the first place.

@Joseph, “LETTINGTHENOTHINGWIN”
I think people should really start focusing on NOTLETTINGTHENOTHINGWIN.
we would be letting down all the falkors/artaxs/bastians/brandissuicides if we just give up.
dont forget the electosurge of 82′ with all the vamos a la playas/ no tengo dineros

I sorta want this whole electro/neo disco/80’s rehash thing to die soon so ppl stop dressing like d-bags and clogging up the restroom line every 20 minutes to go do more blow. I’d rather go see a band actually play something than see talentless bros drink booze straight from the bottle while playing their iTunes playlists.

@wishin’,
tru
but it’s not about ’seeing an electro group/dj’
it’s all about the ‘partie’
All I do is partie-The Msktrkrfts

@wishin’, the whole electro/neo disco/80’s rehash with people dressing like d-bags and clogging up the restroom line every 20 minutes to go do more blow thing was probs here b4 you and will very likely be here “when you’re gone.” kinda wish you’d take a pottery class after work or take up tie-dying 2nd hand tees from crossroads or something to get back in touch w/yourself, w/reality.

@son of steinem,
lol
SO TRUE!
son of steinem’s “get off my lawn” grumpiness reminds of that limp collection of generalizations that Adbusters called “Hipster: The Dead End of Western Civilization.” Post-modernism killed your concept, bro. Embrace the clash of æsthetics. There is only capitalism and pluralism – Murakami style.
Fuck the 90s. Fuck pleur. Fuck your zine and your tapes and your poli-babble.
We’re living in a post-meaning world.

ever since merriweather came out you’ve been acting like a total FGGT.
the new justice track on birdy nam nam album will get you excited again about electro.
or maybe it was never about the tunes and just about the brand

@dankface, ohhhh nooosss. are you seriously suggesting this blog was ever about music? I can post some crappy electro also but it doesn’t make me a music blog.

Carles has always seemed to enjoy the most painfully shit electro. It’s a little appropriate, I think.

yes! The panda bear version of “guys eyes” is the only version I’ll fuck my girlfriend to. We “get vulnerable” and “explore our bodies” when we hear the free-spirited singing and experimental sounds. It works even better on coke, even if it’s been “stepped on” with foot powder. Get a girlfriend son!! We’ll double date
