I feel like males dominate Blipsterdom, since it is easy for them to adapt to new styles. However, most girls who are alt and want to be blipster-core have a more difficult time showcasing their personal brand. Fortunately, mainstream hiphop star and multiple Grammy & Oscar award winner, M.I.A. provided a template which they could use to springboard their personal brand.
This is the M.I.Alt. I just hope that females in the Africalt-American community feel more ‘empowered’ than previous mainstreamers who feel like they have to adapt to hiphop stereotypes. Not every1 has 2 be a ‘video girl’ doing some sort of dance that showcases ur figure. The blipster aesthetic is generally unisexable, so hope that every1 who wants 2 b ‘themselves’ can be ‘themselves.’

i can see my sister slowly turinin into an MIAlt, i think Rhianna started her of by dressing sorta alt for R&Bpop… as she turns Alt so will her friends, and i will soon be getting some blip tugs from her friends tryin to seek authenticity.

<3 MIA. actually have a whole outfit dedicated to her crazy alt style for “going incognito” with shiny things like heavy gold chain and bright things etc athough I am white and shop at target & thrift stores. Not into urban look at all, & h8 most mnstrm brands trying to copy MIA &the rest of 80s trend after so many years. Esp h8 when i see mnstrm peeps dressed in it head to toe brand new from the mall. & American Apparel Afrika print designer owes MIA so much.

mia is sri lankan,not black. weird how she is adopted by blippys disenfranchised with rap culture, previously the only altblacks i knew were really into goth and probably gay. theres a girl at work who talks all day in a corny stereotype ‘black’ voice and grammar like out of a 90s movie, then i find out she is mostly Samoan. maybe she needs som mia to find a new identity and stop talking about baby mammas. she also attends the renaissance festival on a regular basis. i do not yet know what her medieval name is.
