It’s rlly hard to decide who u want 2 b on the internet. Like u have this lil box on your profile, and u have to choose an image which ‘represents u.’ U have like 300×300 pixels to show the world what ur all about. Seems like a lot of pressure.
Some people post a picture of themselves where they look deep/hot/kute. Some people use a picture where they are visiting somewhere interesting. Some people ‘outsource’ their image to be something funnie.’ Or some people have a ‘cartoon representation’ of themselves’.
Do yall have any sort of selection criteria when ur building ur personal brand on the internet?
I know a lot of people who are ‘lonely’ so they usually post pictures where they are hanging out with their friends. I know some bros post pix of themselves ‘at a sports game’ because they think that is meaningful/makes them seem really bro-like. Other bros like to post pix of themselves’ at a place that ’seems important because they are wearing a collared shirt/blazer.’
So much 2 think abt, yall.
Sometimes I wish I could be an AZN, so that I would already ‘kinda look like a cartoon’ and just pick some sort of AZN doodle.
I just googled ‘userpic’ and now I will post a bunch of results.

Sometimes I ‘lurk’ the myspace profiles of girls/guys who I am interested in ‘being’ with, and I just hope that I am falling in love with the right person.

I tend to use pictures of myself as a young child (3-7) because I feel it metaphorically represents me the last time I was truly myself, before I was corrupted by the world and concerned with the way I was portrayed by others. unless of course said website is an “adult oriented” social/mstrbtn/sex finder forum, then i just use a picture of my peen.

I love it when someone’s internet brand consists solely of pictures of their child(ren). Sometimes, the pics have the actual person in them with their child(ren). Though, increasingly, the person who’s ‘profile’ you’re viewing is completely absent in favor of only featuring their true identity: their kid(s).

Carles, I am kind of disappointed in you. You did not mention the cropped photo from the club/party/social gathering last night/weekend/year. You know, when you see the person and they are obviously in a big group of people and there are random hands/arms/shoulders/peni on them but the bodies of their friends are cut off. This is most common amongst sorority girls. They either think that they are more important than their friends and/or forgot that they needed a new solo profile pic while at the party. They used to crop the photos in MS Paint or have their graphic design major roommate do it for them. Now they are super grateful for facebook’s built-in cropping tool, but it’s a little complex for them.

I have never used a picture of myself as my profile pic. First and value being anonymous (but only in name alone… not in who I am) I also don’t need to be judged by how I look….. which is decidedly average. I was speaking with one musician with with several thousand fans/friends and asking “What’s that like having so many friends (which means MANY comments and messages)? Their responce was that the marjority of people are woefully vein and that 90%+ of the comments were about their personal appearance or something dumb. Not at all what I was expecting. But to answer the question I usualy post images of things that I value…. and tend to rotate them. Might be art, sketches, album covers; sometimes show flyers of bands I want to promote, etc.
