Metric – Help I’m Alive (The Twelves Remix)

Metric – Help I’m Alive (The Twelves Remix)

Grade: 5.88 out of 10 runoffs
Review: I remember how I always thought that the MSTRKRFT remix of Metric’s “Monster Hospital” was better than ‘regular Metric.’ Haven’t heard the original version of this song, but I might avoid it 4ever. I think that Metric has a new album out. Not even sure if this is a ‘review.’ Just posting some [HIGHLY BLOGGABLE] electro. Feel like this is a song that I will ‘enjoy’ for the next several years.

I think this is my list of favourite Broken Social Scene sub-bands:
1. The Feists
2. The Kevin Drews
3. Metric
4. Stars

Remember when Canada first invaded indie rock?
Wonder if The Twelves are the most underrated ‘electro act’ on the planet right now. Feel like they might be a better Brazilian band than CSS, but maybe not as marketable. Not sure. Hope the Brazilian economy is okay. Saw a movie about that place called ‘City of God’ and made me want 2 stay in America 4ever.

Remember when ‘remixes’ didn’t even really ‘exist’ yet and there were only a few ‘good ones’?

not bad as rmxs go, but doesn’t rilly ‘measure up’ 2 the metric (via lacking rest-of-band)

feel like grow up and blow away used to be my favourite metric album. felt like it was more ‘unified’ in its ‘feel’
& then they made fantasies. feel like this album has ‘more of a direction’ than the other two full-band-as-opposed-to-just-ehaines-&&-jamess albums.
feel like metric just got a lot better.

    also,
was surprised to see you ranking the kevin drews so high. felt like spirit if… was ‘a bit self-indulgent’
    liked the brendan cannings better.

Metric are one of the worst and most embarassing bands of our time. MSTRKFT need to lose rappers and fat instead of vowels.

aw CRLS, this is such unexpected nostalgia! I do remember when I started DJing and there were only like 45 good songs out, and you had to be careful to make teh bangers last all night. Thank you for this throwback.

This song is pretty gay. Listened to the first 25 seconds, then skipped to mid way, then to 3/4 and finally the end. Keyword ‘finally’. Twangy disco-bass is best left to the professionals.

The Twelves need a gimmick like Daft Punk playing at their house or wearing a Deadmau5. CSS had the Alala-broad take her clothes off like Girl Talk. Nudity is an effective gimmick. MSTRKRFT put themselves inside of Guitar Heroes and iPhones. Andy Warhol opened a factory. Daft Punk hired an AV tech to put on a light show.

“Wonder if The Twelves are the most underrated ‘electro act’ on the planet right now.” They R.
