I don’t understand French, but I think this is ‘hipster rap’ about my alternative culture

Language is so weird, yall. Sometimes I feel like it isn’t useful, like we can just communicate with images, videos, life experiences, and memes. For example, I watched this video, and even though I don’t know French, I can ‘relate’ and ‘totally understand’ what this video is all about. I am not sure if these are like famous French rappers like Tony Parker-Longoria or Yelle, but it seems like a similar product. There are also black girls dancing, making it okay that a white Euro is utilizing the art of rap, usually reserved 4 African Americans.

Still feel sort of pissed off that Euros are so obsessed with American stuff, including ‘Gossip Girl’, Michael Jackson (Justice), John Hughes films (M83), and ScarJo (The Teenagers). Tired of ‘fucking Frogs’ stealing American culture. Wish that they’d just stay ‘weird’ like Daft Punk and Sebby Tellier.

Can some1 translate this rap song 4 me?
Does if have themes about ‘getting drunk’, ‘fashion’, ‘partying’ and other stuff that black/alt ppl celebrate?
Does n e 1 know if this was filmed in my local scene, or if every where in the world looks like this place?

Sometimes I wish rappers would just write real songs about ‘needing 2 get ur dick sucked’ by the end of the night, or having sex with multiple women [via date rape drug], or maybe just a song about ‘masturbating urself 2 sleep.’

Hey, here’s a rough english translation for the lyrics :

    She’s a flyer collector,
You can catch her at parties, but you won’t see her anywhere else.
Fashion changes from one time to another,
She’s already thrown away here Wayfarer’s.
She never goes out without her gossip girls.
Call her Blair, she’ll call you Earl.
She’s dating this DJ for 2 months already,
She’s got all free admissions, I think she understood everything.
She’s got a lot of friends (girls) but she doesn’t like them.
She prefers guys, especially the ones who pay drinks.
She’s gonna marry one of them if she fails at college.
She’s given up buying food, for buying clothes.
Don’t talk to her, she’s not interested.
She got last Betty’s post in mind, she’s going through every blog, no time for stupidities.

    Nanananananana … Gossip Gossip Girl

At parties she challenges them (girls) all,
She’s got the hit bag, she’s got the hit shoes.
She’s so happy she can wear her boyfriend’s jeans,
Because the truth is that she’s got no cash.
Kids, no she won’t have any,
Maybe, at the limit, she’ll adopt some.
She’ll left them to her mother from thursday evening,
She’s ready for sacrifices, but not changing her career.
She’s gonna be a stylist or a journalist.
If she can still be on clubs’ guestlists.
So that we can see her on the dancefloor,
So that she can kiss the DJ.
    Today baby’s got a hungover,
She wakes up in a place that she doesn’t know.
I left her a note on the sofa.
“Please don’t wake me up when you leave my place”

“gozip gerls”…that’s horrible, why don’t they stick with their own language and shows?…maybe they could talk about Amelie or “guiñoles”…seriously.

I agree with you Carlsy, I have that argument with my boyfriend (he’s french) all the time. Frogs act like they can’t even bother with the US, that they have no culture, that they are fat and “stupid” (i guess because they don’t know about “precious” paintings over a century old or “relevant” things like that). But then they turn around and use all imagery and references that come from US culture…I wish the “Justices” friend SoMe would make illustrations for their videos that went along with their “cultivated culture”…like baguettes, brie cheese and maybe and orgy..although i think Sebastien with and E has already taken care of that…

    beyonce knowles
    whitney houston
    mariah carey(?)
    aretha franklin
    nicole richie(!)
    and halle barry

all subsequent ‘black girls’ in the world were manufactured from DNA samples collected from these broads’ teetmilk

i’m french, i don’t know why everyone seems to be so disapointed when a french is inspired by american things, i hate cheese, i hate french movies (not the old good one by truffaut or godard but the new shitty prolo-funny-films).

charly greane just take some american things he like (like the “”décomplaxeted”" face of US rap) because in france the 98% of the rap is like boring things with sad guys talking about violence, politics, ghetto, selling drugs in sarcelle or fight with cops, or very boring rap/poems about the poor guys, sarkozy etc…

i think greane (and some other rappeur like Tekilatex, or some others..) don’t wanna be sad all their life about this problem and just talk about girls, sex, drinking, having fun, buy new clothes, or just good moment like taking cocaine on a nude girls and watching tv

and in france it’s not yet understand by the whole french rap scene, that’s why he’s most influenced by the american rapper who talk about that for long time but here with a south>france touch
