Just read on some magazine’s website that Girl Talk is the 55th most Creative Person in Business

Meme via FastCompany

Have yall heard about this post-modern rock star? He seems pretty chill. Might download his album or something… but srsly yall. It’s weird how Girl Talk’s brand is still being consumed by mainstreamers. Like they are discovering some ‘gem’ or something. I guess what we have learned is that Girl Talk does nothing too special as a DJ, but his brand is strong and identifiable–he is white, used to have a ‘real job’, and represents our inner-whitebro having a good time, partying & becoming the person we want 2 be. I guess that makes him ‘creative’ or something. Wonder how much he charges for a DJ gig. Glad I was into him ‘before he was too famous’ [via "I'm a PC" ad]

Also saw that Damien Hirst was on this list.

Not really familiar with any artist other than Andy Warhol, so I read up on this bro. Apparently he sells are for ‘a shit load of money’ even though it is stupid. He apparently sold some gold shark or something for $1 million. He is apparently going to sell his cadaver after he dies to make some ‘art.’ Seems authentic/like a gimmick/like a dream job. Damn. Feel jealous. Can’t believe these creative people get paid for their passion, but I don’t get paid for what I love to do.

Is it still alt to deify Marc Jacobs? Wish people turned their backs on fashion designers like they do on bands.

Not sure how I feel about this list of creative people. I think Tyra Banks is on it. So is the guy who shoots the Sartorialist. So is the guy who designed the iPod/iPhone. Glad he got #1.

It’s weird when ‘magazines’ build these intense, deep lists of people who are influential. It’s like they take 1 person from every niche of the cool aspects of society that are covered by blogs. Think it might be some sort of scheme to get ‘mad hits.’ Tech bros + movie bros + design bros + music bros + government bros + female bros + African American bros + fashion bros + ______ bros. Important 2 pick diverse lists. Think that this list is ’sponsored by HP’ and some HP bro is on their list. Might be a scam. Might need to destroy my Hewlett Packard desktop/Photo+printer+scanner.

Marc Jacobs is predicting Neon and 80’s style clothes/ I think my mom could of told you that.

Girl talk is the most unauthentic performer. I saw him in March his drunk ass knocked over his entire table including laptops and the music didn’t even skip… Its all a bunch of bullshit.

@jen, I’m just saying everything went over in a really big explosion of emotion. I was expecting some sorta glitch or connection buzz and all I got was crystal clear audio and GG playing it off as if nothing happened as his techs assisted him in on setting his stuff back up… gotta go buy my neon clothes/matching shades

@Rick, i’ve seen him a few times over the past few years and have never seen him wear neon clothes. is that just what you would expect him to wear? did you even go see him? are you living in a fantasy land? you dumbass

@jen, I’ve seen him three times, the first time was great, second so-so and last time was no good. Every time ive seen him he is wearing a white-t. I think after a few times you realize its just a giant hypefest. Its all those fucks dancing on stage with the plastic neon sunglasses I was referring to, not him. thx tho.

I have only heard of like 5 people on the list: Tyler Perry, Tyra Banks, Greg Gillis, Marc Jacobs, and Brian Eno. I guess I’m not as relevant as I thought or this is a list of gay-asses.

Meeting Gillis at UCLA yesterday was a sobering experience. Talked about software and Pittsburg. Still def authentic, but totally mainstream. Audience catchphrase for the night was “I love this song!” Hating on Girl Talk is a tired effort.

@aw, fukk, Don’t. We should lower the drinking age like in Europe so kids don’t kill themselves the moment they encounter large amounts of ethanol. Moderation is key until you can learn how not to make AS MUCH of a fool of yourself/vomit all over/fall over on the floor…etc.

Don’t forget to drink water…or stick with beer.

media like that is only interested in ppl who R already establishment.
it ALWAYS hurts seeing ideas u had like 6 years ago that come from just the way you livin and the way ur feeling it getting ‘geniusly thought of for the first time’ by marc fucking jacobs or ’some clown’.
marc jacobs did not in any way ‘make fashion hip’.
i used to really like hirst though.

    ‘Let’s Start This Party Right’

What the fuck is this nonsense. Think I might ‘kill’ this bro, first chance i get. Any1 know how to overcome this murderous rage?

track just switched to…Smash Your Head

yo i heard about this cat girl talk i heard he was pretty fly. what i’ve found is it is mainly authentic to be into mainstream in an ironic way. Do ya know what I mean? So its cool to be into Britney Spears in an ironic i don’t really care at all about music i don’t even really listen to music and Britney is about the only musician i’ve ever even heard of kind of way. the more mainstream the better b/c the more ironic. Word to your mamas.
