Concerts + Technology = A Better Concert Experience?

Photo via TeensBlog

Sometimes I wonder
what the world was like
before God invented digital projection technology
and ‘enhanced’ the shows of some of my favourite bands

Can’t believe there was a time
when bros didn’t have access to digital cameras
video editing software, The Adobe Creative Suite, and miscellaneous ways to make ‘trippy visuals’ that may or may not
‘fit’ with the band’s music.

Feel ‘massively relieved’ that bands can ‘perform in the dark’
with accompanying ‘visuals’
that add to my ‘concert going experience.’
Wonder if Anco would ‘be as good’ without ’sillie visuals’
wonder if u could still ‘blaze’ and go to a ‘pink floyd laser show’
without technologie.

Can’t believe I am ‘living in the future’
in a place where people can ‘read my thoughts’
almost instantaneously
while I am any where in the world [via twitter]

Wonder how old concerts were
back when it was just ‘dumb dudes playing guitar’
now we don’t have to focus on bros
and can focus on ‘a 3d experience’

Damn.
‘the future is now’

Do yall think technologie makes life/art/music better?
Or does it ‘cover up’ the flaws in some of ur favourite experiences?

For the RECORD, my band never uses visuals or any digital technology though we doubtlessly would if we weren’t so p0ur. When I ‘occiasionally’ record a song I dont use any technologies and instead only bang on cups cause I’m so p0ur.

After seeing AnCo play a 2:45PM set at Bonnaroo, ‘technologie’ definitely makes a huge difference. They had zero visuals(daytime, playa), unless you count the Merriweather post Pavilion flag behind them, lol.

The show was a huge disappointment, it was almost embarrassing, apart from the awesome 118 minute Fireworks. I figure this is partly due to my sober state at the time, and partly due to the complete lack of technologies apart froM LEET SAMPLEZ OF BEEPZ AND BELLZ.

The moral of the story is: do not see Animal Collective outside during the day. I should have gone to see the cuteness overload happening over at “That Tent” via St. Vincent instead. <3

Hell yeah go technology! I need it you need it & Anco couldn’t live without it, what use is a band that’s mainly famous on the internet if they can’t show the internet at their gigs? Now all we need at their gigs is a trackpad each and we can do away with the band yay!

Technology can make a concert better if it is used in a meaningful way. The 2 best concerts I saw #1 Kraftwerk great use of tech, #2 Smiths no tech just lots of energy.
The Detroit Electronic Music Fest used 2 b kewl until the corporations started having their ads on giant projections screens behind the artist. (Plus the DEMF had been charging the past few years so it officially sux. Plus they also changed the name to “Movement”).
