My dad is currently driving an oversized, teal blue, 1993 Chevy Lumina – it is old, dirty, and none of the front work anymore so we have to enter through the side slider. At first I felt sorry for myself, but after reading this, I feel sorry for you. I’m 17 years old and I take a lot of pride in what I wear and how I present myself everyday. Only a short three years ago, I thought that everything in life was simply peachy. I wore designer clothing, and both my parents had acceptable vehicles that I was glad to show up in. That was, however, until my poor father lost his job and then injured his leg, preventing him from a normal life. Money is now tight, and buying a 1000 van (we had NEVER been ‘van people’) was our only option. Being 17 and in this mess, I don’t even have a car to call my own and while I still manage to wear nice clothing and present my own style, I still let my parents pull up to the building when they DROP me off. You should be happy that you have parents that can even provide such things for you. It’s not about what you drive, or what you look like, it should be about the person you are, and accepting such things as a car, a simple, materialistic thing, shouldn’t stop you from being an amazing person.

My folks own a Mercedes, Mustang, and Ford Taurus. My first car was a BMW. I just got it in August, and I am soooooo happy=) I prayed about what I wanted, and proved myself to my folks, and one morning I woke up and BAM!

Wow shut the fuck up. A dodge Dakota isn’t the worst thing to drive. My parents own a very successful business that make $500k a year+ and guess what i drive…A Geo fucking Tracker. The thing breaks down all of the time and i need to put all of my money in it just to keep it running. I am only 16 but I am working a full time summer job. You need to get shot for being such a needy little bitch. Learn to appreciate what you have because not every one just gets handed a decent car that actually runs.

My father drives an Audi A6 and I ride a bike with no intention of getting a car any time soon and I like it. Can’t get embarrassed/proud, we don’t live in the same country so he never drives me anywhere or anything unless I visit him and then, nobody knows me anyway.
