yes, don’t grow up yet. the same thing happened to me a few months ago. i got sick of torrenting ‘inde-rock’ playlists and reading pitchfork and my attempt(s) to be relevant and authentic. so i started listening to post-hardcore and got really into that scene. (nawt recommended) and then i stepped back and realized that it really wasn’t for me. so i stuck with my hipster roots and did what gsus wanted me 2 do on planet earth.
take a trip somewhur. go to brooklyn and teach people how to read. just sit down and think. is this the life you want to leave with having? what else can u do?

i entirely agree with this. i was born and raised in Yakima, WA but felt like I needn’t to leave my non-alt rural city life. So i left for brooklyn to fined myself. I spend 3 months in brooklen just eating jewfood and talking to blackppl. best experience of my life (yall). I think you need to stop talking about shit Mainstream bands, even if you are making fun of them. HRO is supposed to be above that. We, the readers, are supposed to already know relevant topics and then we come to HRO for the analysis. I feel like alot posts lately are targeted to tween (highschool aged kids), and a lot of the comments are from tween (highschool aged kids). This brings the whole authenticity of this site down. Truly authentic bros are twenty -somethings that are already culturally aware and they know every band on gvsb, pf4k, stereogum, hypemachine, their local scene. Go back to making this site for people in the know and not just a site explains things to entry levelers / emo kids.

i predict the growing demographic of mixecalts will forge their own shitty brand to consume and follow [via the marses volta v.4.__ ] and vintage alts [via old age] will listen to vintage country music (again).
