i’m new here, and have been reading non-chronologically, so I can’t answer this, but this is really good as a whole. You made me think and laugh.
From my continent, in one of the many layers, it also reads as an illustration for some strange Altmerican Studies course – I’m not taking the things described here seriously, but their capacity to create strong reactions still mean something. I don’t want at all to “get into the deepest/highest of american/style altdom” by reading this (my visual signaling towards the people I want to be with is based on my local context anyway), just to see, how a part of the world works. Which also happens to produce a big part of the music, that I consume.
ps: I’d be interested in a post getting meta about all those rumours about your real identity.

i hated that ad campaign with the stupid alcohol bottle in front of me.
don’t get me wrong. i love drinking. we all do. that’s a good direction to go with your ads. but the pop up in your face is just annoying.
Altbros are NOT dead, but since there isn’t any “buzzworthy” indie album out right now, they are in hibernation. The next time we get an album that is Merryweather quality, they will return.
chillwave was my favorite genre this year. well. actually i just like chillwave cause i discovered them after PEAKING on AnCo. needed something to try and fill the void.
really loved the post about the comcast bro. poor fella.

I really connected to the “my friends and I dress like an indie band” post. I felt like carles perfectly described my friends and I and that was actually the first post I read then told others about! That was the moment I realized “everyone… Well not everyone… But the select dew should definitely read hipsterrunoff!!”
