It seems like these days, all bands must do whatever it takes to ‘generate buzz’, even when it means negative coverage that doesn’t always strengthen ur brand in a traditional way. I remember when Wavves got popular for being ‘the bad boy of indie rock’ in 2k9. Sorta weird how even negative memes can help your band stay in the limelite.
Have yall heard the latest mp3 by Justice? Apparently it was a ‘hoax’ by some1 pretending 2 be Jousteece, but all mp3 bloggers ‘jumped on the opportunity’ to ‘cover’ this exclusive track.

Do yall think this sounds like Justice? Is it good/bad for the Justice brand if their music is easy to replicate? Is ‘mockery’ of their ‘unique sound’ the ‘greatest form of flattery’/sign of brand strength? Can n e 1 with a copy of GarageBand make the same songs that Justice makes? After hearing this song, do u think Justice will produce one of the most memorable albums of 2k10 AND the 2k10 decade?
h8 the internet. So hard 2 believe what is real. Kinda like Balloon Boy. U don’t know who to trust. So many secrets. Wish consumers were ‘in the know’ instead of being subjected to deceptive marketing campaigns.
I feel ‘blessed’ to be on a mailing list with tons of other relevant MP3 bloggers. Seemed so easy 2 believe that this was a record label emailing me, encouraging me to discuss this mp3. Encouraging me to share the mp3 with the alts of the world.
Can’t believe fake Justice ‘got all the way to #1 on hypemachine’. So many bands would ‘kill’ to be the #1 hype machine band in the world, but one zany parody track rode all the way to the top, sort of like an Andy Samberg song.
Sometimes I wonder if mp3 blogs are slaves, and they aren’t really in control of their content stream. From what I understand, most of the electroblogs from 2k6-2k8 have given up/focused on dubstep. Not sure which mp3 blogs would even still cover Justice. Wondering if mp3 blogs are still ‘good ways to find music’, or if they just create a worthless long tail of content.

This is normal business for the msic industry bands have been playing off hype or coattailing other bands since homeboy Mozart started chilling withs wigs and pianos. The only difference is that now there are “legite” bloggers who can spread the truth before you actually listen to this fake band. U can’t make all these claims. I mean just because Dan Deacon plays a set in your city and then plays the same set in my city. I mean the vibes will always be different. plus the context in which we listen to this type of music is way different too.
Whatever, would some much rather listen to this than Commercial ass shit, like Ke$ha or something. At least these alternative bands like Art and support more Avant Garde Shit. And that will push us into the future.

This DOES NOT sound like justice. Well, correction, it may sound like them but you can easily hear the lack of polish and depth. The drum sample for instance is far from what we are used to with justice, it is much more compressed and raw in their “real” songs. It’s just a bad copy. A really, really, really bad copy. Xavier and Gaspard are geniuses.

Been listening to that track for well over a year or more. i was basically saying that it’s a new sound for them and i bet they are leaning in that direction of sound / maybe even progressing beyond that for their new album. believe me I KNOW everything there is about justice. Justice was “relevant”, circa pre-2k7.1. I don’t listen to Justice anymore – I know of too many mnstrmr Justice fans. If Miley Cyrus released an “indie” album, it would be more “relevant” than Justice’s recent oeuvre, which evokes watered-down Dam-Funk (my new favorite electro artist).

The only thing that irritates me about this fake track, is that I cannot find a place for in my music folder!
