Caribou Odessa
2k10 has been 'the worst mp3 recession' in the history of the mp3 blogosphere. We are still recovering from the end of the indie era, back when so much 'low level shit' was presented to us, and we were encouraged to 'eat it up' since the modern mp3 blogosphere has an 'excess supply' of mp3s, and blog readers have an 'excess demand' for coverage. There are simply not enough bloggable tracks/bands and a high demand for content. This makes the current model favorable for crappy + mediocre bands.
2k10 has been 'all about' watching mainstream indie band heavy weights battle it out for the largest meme / commercial show cases. Sorta miss the era when 'cherry picking' mp3s was still satisfying, back in the glory days of the hype machine.
From what I have read on Wikipedia, Caribou has 'been around' since the year 2000. This MP3 of "Odessa" has been in the open market for 1 month. I think that I enjoy the song "Odessa" and will possibly let it 'define' Q1 of 2k10 for me. It possibly reminds me of a better / more conceptual version of Yacht, possibly a post-DFA product or something. Maybe this song is 'post-disco', enabling the listener to have a fun, dark time. Not sure if this entire album is 'good' or if they are the type of band who creates a unified album that sounds the same.

Does n e 1 know if Caribou is 'authentic'?
Has a 'good, new' band launched in 2k10?
Will we just explore older bands that never got excessively hyped in the past 3 years?
Do yall miss the glory days of mp3 hunting?
When will the ternative era come 2 save us?
Feel so 'guarded'/hesitant when it comes to new mp3s / bands /brands. Afraid of commitment.
