Some one twit pic-ed this music store in Austin, TX that claims to sell chillwave synths. They must be trying to meet a market demand for synthesizers that produce 'nostalgic pop textures, that sound like the remnants of VHS tapes from your childhood.' So many new buzzbands need new sounds. They need to be able to go to a music store that doesn't just appeal to hard rock bros who need guitars.
More post-indie bands need chillwave synths. A device that lets them achieve the modern sounds/textures of yesterday/today/tomorrow.
Not sure what the name of this music store is, but they probably should have branded themselves in this meme. It seems like local establishments + micro businesses can create memes that get attention on the internet, but need 2 do a better job of making sure that their brand is attached to the meme.
Kinda want to shop there cuz I know they would meet my needs as a musician, but don't know how 2 find them.
If u were gonna start a buzzband, would u just illegally download a music making program, or would you invest several thousand dollars in instruments at your local music store?
What does it cost to start a new band?
What tools / programs / instruments / gear does an aspiring chillwave artist need?

What is a good synth that will help my electro / chillwave band?
Are people who work at music stores 'the ultimate ass holes'?
Are people who work in music stores 'more pretentious' than people who work in Record Stores?
Are people who work in Record Stores more pretentious than the people who work in the Barnes and Noble CD section?
Can you start a chillwave band without an iTunes library full of samples to 'steal'?
