The Guy Who took the Picture of Kirsten Kennis for Vampy Weeks is running from the law bc he is 'effed'

Kirsten Kennis is an unchill old lady whose picture was used on the cover of Vampire Weekend's hit album CONTRA. Unfortunately, she didn't know, and apparently Vampy Weekend signed some 'release' from a photographer' but the photographer may or may not have been lying abt the vibe/scene.

Do yall remember 'Kirsten gate'? Kirsten Kennis was all like "Vampy stole my photo" but now Vampy Weekend and their record label is being all like, 'listen yall. some photographer bro said it was his photo. Don't blame this shit on me, yall.'

According to the original claim filed last summer by Kennis, Brody charged Vampire Weekend a license fee of $5,000 for the image of Kennis. It is unclear how he obtained the image, which was shot more than 25 years ago. But Vampire Weekend says Brody had claimed in the license agreement that he shot the image.

Kennis, meanwhile, has said that the model release Brody presented to Vampire Weekend was forged. The band’s record label says it “reasonably” relied upon the signed release that Brody provided.

The band also says that Brody claimed that he had “good title and full right and authority” to license the image. Brody “misrepresented certain facts and breached contracts,” Vampire Weekend says in its claim against him. “Responsibility, if any, for damages claimed by [Kennis] rests entirely on Brody.”

Not sure who this Brody is, but wonder if he is gonna 'go to the slammer'/get 'taken 2 the cleaners.' Seems like there is a 'warrant' out for his arrest, even though I'm not sure what that means or if it applies bc I wasn't a 'down-on-my-luck college graduate' who decided to go to law school to make my parents feel like I am still 'advancing in life':

A federal court judge in California has turned up the heat on Tod Brody, the elusive photographer at the center of a lawsuit over an image on the cover of Vampire Weekend’s 2009 “Contra” album.

Brody allegedly licensed a Polaroid image of former model Ann Kirsten Kennis to Vampire Weekend and its record label for use on the album cover and in some concert promotions. Kennis sued the band, the label and Brody last July, alleging unauthorized use of her likeness. In response, Vampire Weekend and its record label counter-sued Brody in August. Any liability is his, the band says in that counter-claim, because Brody warranted that he had all the necessary rights to license the image.

Not really sure abt 'the law', just kinda hope some how Kirsten Kennis gets the electric chair in the Pitchfork Court of Law under presiding Judge Ryan Schreiber.

Sorta wish Kirsten Kennis was 'dead' or something so none of this would have happened.
Wish she woulda just rode the indie buzzwave and got a modeling contract with Am Appy.
Wish Vampy Weeks had just picked 'some other random vintage looking broad'
Wish they had just used photoshop to re-create a vintage ass broad
Wish photographer bros were 'chill' and had no sort of intellectual property and .jpgs (printed out or on the internet) belonged 2 any1.

R u worried abt Vampire Weekend/XL Recordings?
Will Kirsten Kennis' daughter be able to attend her 'dream school' bundled with a 'sweet study abroad program'?

Wonder when this will ever be resolved.
Will this put 'a cloud of uncertainty' over their album as it is being considered for album of the year bc people are afraid they will get sued if they embed the image on their website?
Will Vampy Weeks' next album be a 'h8-wave album' abt the law, society, and intellectual property?
