SKINS is an MTV show about alternative teens who live a party hard lifestyle, with tons of sex, drugs, drinking, STDs, and other adult issues. In order to be 'provocative', show producers must walk the line between 'teen show' and 'kiddie porn.' However, it seems like the MTV show SKINS is [OFFICIALLY] considered 2 be child pornography.
In recent days, executives at the cable channel became concerned that some scenes from the provocative new show “Skins” may violate federal child pornography statutes.
Why do yall think it is child porn? It's just teens having fun. All of u old grey hairs need 2 realize that teens are living in a new teen-society, where every1 does drugs & fucks 1 another.
They are particularly concerned about the third episode of the series, which is to be broadcast Jan. 31. In an early version, a naked 17-year-old actor is shown from behind as he runs down a street. The actor, Jesse Carere, plays Chris, a high school student whose erection — assisted by erectile dysfunction pills — is a punch line throughout the episode.

I'm sure tons of teens see erections in their locker rooms every day. What's the big deal? Is it really kiddie porn? Why is every1 freaking out? Is our society 2 conservative, or are we just worried abt 'dumb ass tweens' who will have sex bc they see it on TV?

It seems like advertisers are starting 2 'pull their ads' from SKINS because there aren't enough family values.
L'Oréal SA and sandwich-chain Subway on Monday brought to seven the number of marketers publicly pulling their advertisements from the program, which has prompted a barrage of criticism because of its depictions of minors engaging in sexual activity as well as drug and alcohol abuse.
Several other high-profile companies—from Taco Bell to General Motors Co.—have distanced themselves from the series on the Viacom Inc.-owned network, which the Parents Television Council dubbed "the most dangerous television show for children that we have ever seen."

It seems like the show has been 'wildly successful.' I'm sure tons of teens are 'tweeting & FB status updating about it.' Gathering around their high school water coolers just 2 talk abt last night's episode of SKINS.
The show is off to a running start. It attracted 3.3 million to its premiere on Monday night and set a new first-episode record for the channel among viewers ages 12 to 34.
Episodes of “Skins” are rated TV-MA, indicating that the content may be unsuitable for viewers younger than 17. MTV states in news releases that it is “specifically designed to be viewed by adults.” However, many of MTV’s viewers are in middle and high school. According to the Nielsen Company, the first episode drew 1.2 million people younger than 18.
