While 'coverage' on HIPSTER RUNOFF can elevate your bands brand to the indie mainstream + expose your brand to tons of frontline tastemakers, the abusive cyberbullywave writing tone can take a psychological toll on the humans behind these buzzbands. There was the Best Coast incident where Bethany told Carles to eat a dick [link] and accused him of stealing her weed [link]. In addition, Nick Diamonds also threatened 2 kill Carles [link]. Now it seems like the Vivian Girls are finally 'lashing out' at Carles, the blogger behind HIPSTER RUNOFF for his unfair and biased coverage of their buzzband's career.

In an interview with some website, Cassie Ramone, the 2nd most famous member of the Vivian Girls behind Kickball Katy, she 'lets her hair down' and sounds out on HIPSTER RUNOFF.

You seem to be getting an increasing amount of abuse from Carles and the team at Hipster Runoff. Do you pay much attention?

It's really annoying more than anything else, but I guess that is his goal. That kind of stuff is exactly what I want to avoid as a musician - being a "meme," etc. I do read Hipster Runoff sometimes. I think Carles is very smart and sometimes his observations are right on, but I don't actually believe that he means any of the things he writes about. I view the blog more as conceptual art than anything else. However, it still doesn't feel good to be on the receiving end of it.

Ramone went on to say that Ali Koehler, their former drummer leaving is 'not a big deal' and that the band is stronger than ever. If you read into this, she is basically saying that Ali is a 'marginally talented drummer' and that the band is probably better off. BuzzGirlBands are s00oo0o catty, yall!

You’ve managed to lose two drummers along the way too. How’ve the changes affected your outlook?
I don't think I can stress this enough - it's really not that big of a deal! Bands change members all the time. Almost every band I can think of has gone through as many line-up changes as us, which isn't really that many. I think it's way more noteworthy if a band can keep a consistent line-up for their entire career.
