Norm Macdonald is a vintage indie comedian who recently released a new album. Unfortunately, this album was TOTALLY PANNED by indie music news and reviews site Pitchfork Media. They are probably trying to kill off this generation of comedy, and usher in a new era led by alt comedians Aziz Ansari and Donald Glover. It's a sad day for this comedy legend, withstanding an attack from an indie blog.

Is Norm Mac's career 'over'?
Did he deserve 'Best New Album' 4 this effort?
Did he 'bend genres' and create a new kind of music/soundscape?
Are they trying 2 say that he is only 6.5 out of 10 funny?

Pitchfork says that Norm does not take himself seriously enough as an artist:

It comes nowhere near the high-wire truth-telling of Louis C.K., nor does it really attempt to push any sort of measure of taste. Macdonald acknowledges his existence as absurd to the point where even he hardly takes it seriously.

Is Louis CK the 10.0 of comedy right now?

It seems like Norm Mac didn't 'riff' on hot buzz topics. From what I understand, it is totally 'in' to talk politics & current events.

And Standup might be one of the few comedy records you'll hear that's quite literally timeless. There isn't one instance where Macdonald gives an indication of what year it is. Even stranger is how absorbing it can be even though Norm Macdonald, the human being, is all but removed from the proceedings. I can't think of a comedy album that's less beholden to the life of the actual person who made it.
