Carles is a CYBERBULLY & even if he is referenced in blogs like the New York Times because of his CYBERBULLYING & is earning mad $$$ as a result of the extra traffic that the incessant CYBERBULLYING has attracted that absolutely does not excuse the fact that being a CYBERBULLY is most definitely not cool. :(

I mean, you trash people for inauthenticity when it's clear to anyone who knows their shit that you're obv just some suburban 4chan nerd pretending to be a hipster yourself. most of your judgments and observations about even entry level music are fucking hopelessly clueless, the ignorance about which you try to cover up by hiding behind a phony and cowardly 'ironic' tone ("oh yeah I was just kidding there LOL!"). you trivialize everything happening in culture and music, reducing it all down to insultingly cynical game of point-scoring and stat-collecting, as if you assume everyone out there is as cynical as yourself. and all the while you position yourself as a parodist, when in fact you're doing the very thing you parody... namely attempting to feed off of culture and hype and build your own brand.

you mock people who "mean it"/strive for "authenticity" but then hypocritically punish anyone who sidesteps these old notions of authenticity and more blatantly appear to project an image (which is what style is), but that's what you do yourself (and behind your image hides an insecure, unhappy, bitter troll looking for attention and cred who attacks and tries to tear down anyone else who seeks the same things)

tl;dr, the jig is up. go back to 4chan you sad fraud, you're not fooling anyone who matters. the only people who actually think you're a "hipster," or someone with any authority on the subject, are 15 year old suburban Hot Topic shoppers, as your fan pics unfailingly demonstrate

so a corporate-backed/corporate-created 'musician' is mocked and humiliated by hundreds/thousands of 'relevant tastemakers', who maintain a presence in the 'indie' music scene, for trying to subvert that selfsame 'indie' music scene, which predominantly designates itself as being outside the control of/in contrast to/in opposition to mainstream corporate 'entities' that 'manufacture' 'culture' for 'profit', and people are surprised that said 'musician' is dragged through the 'mud' for being a corporate whore?

questions of 'authenticity' are not 'relevant' in this discussion... but questions of 'trust' unfold as we begin examining the legitimacy of alternative media channels. can we trust carles? can we trust p4k? can we trust filter? can we trust spin? can we trust gbv? can we trust xmu? can we trust jakey foges? can we trust 'the web'? can we trust 'lana' and future 'lanas'? can we trust 'people who make music'? can we trust 'israel gonzalez'? can we trust ourselves?
