I recently saw that teen sensation, Drew Barrymore got her tongue pierced.

It kinda reminded me about the past, and when people took personal branding choices ‘more seriously’/didn’t overanalyze them. Kinda wish we could go back to those days, and just appreciate things for what they are, and not ‘overreact’+crucify people whenever they implement a [...]

This tattoo is a metaphor. Yall don’t realize how much energy it takes to get through a day. Much like an Apple computer, u have a POWER button that u have to [metaphorically] press to ‘get goin’ and ‘take on the world.’ It’s kinda weird. Sometimes I [...]

(is this the most beautiful alternative male ever posted on HRO?)

[via Stil in Berlin]
When I grow up into an authentic alt,
I want to be a beautiful man.
I want to be a beautiful man in manty hose.
I want to be a beautiful man in manty hose standing at the base of the Eiffel Tower.
I want to [...]

If u have a relevant circle of friends in ur local alternative community, every1 knows some1 who has implemented the personal brand of Bob Dylan circa 1960/1970. U have 2 have curly brown hair 2 do this, so it’s kinda like a ‘gift from god’ if ur able to pull it off. [...]

I feel like I’m gonna spend 2k9 spending a lot more time trying to understand form/function so that I know how to better compartmentalize/stereotype/label different genres of products/people/ideas/nouns. Not sure if I’ll ever ‘get’ the diff btwn leggings/panty hose/tights… I know that some are solid. & some are see-thru (but sometimes [...]

My entire life has been focused on ‘moving to the city.’ I hear a lot of songs about ‘the city’ and see a lot of meaningful pictures of culture/daily life from ‘the city.’ Within ‘the city’ is a network of creative people and a thriving public transportation system. In the [...]

2k10 will be a turning point for women. They will no longer be confined by fashion/design constructs, and they will redefine every article of clothing in order to create a more authentic method of expressing who they are [via the clothes that they wear]. Things will begin to get [...]

[VIA HELLOOKS]
So this is the new year,
and I don’t feel any different.
I am the ringmaster,
in a world of zany zaniness.
This world is like a circus
kinda like the Britt Spears song/album
and I am in the middle
and every1 is looking @ me
and things are crazie
Circuses are metaphors
for when
the world
getz 2 zany 2 handle
and the whole world
is watching
(me)
I [...]

I want people 2 know which cities I HEART. When I say that I HEART (<3) something, it means that I am cobranding myself with this city. Every city has a unique Way of Life (unless u live in suburbia), so it is important 2 wear t-shirts that remind people [...]

When I grow up into the alt that I will one day be, I want to have a cut of hair in the shape of a spacious mixing bowl, with a well-defined plane of man bangs. (Sorry yall–still just trying 2 trendhunt a lot in 2k9. Not sure if I’m [...]

Yall. Isn’t it kinda weird how scarves blur the line between ‘functional’ and ‘completely unnecessary’ depending on the weather? h8 people who ‘wear scarves when it is 65 degrees outside.’
Men with scarves = kinda like entry level altbags, or maybe like ‘people who shopped at the GAP for too long.’ Girls with [...]

I only listen to vintage AnCo.
I only listen to AnCo in free-spirited zany college acapella group format.
Panda Bear, Avey Tare, Geologist (& Deakin) do not colour coordinate in free spirited primary+secondary coloured outfits/bros who ‘wear all black except for a coloured tie.’
In 2k9, acapella will emerge as the most alternative + authentic form of music, [...]
