Let's face it. Justice's 2k11 release was a huge flop. No1 even liked it because no1 listens to prog rock. I have no idea what 'prog rock' even is. Might as well just call it 'boring rock.' Anyways, they have some new 'single' called 'on'n'on' that no1 is even interested in hearing, but in order to 'get buzz', they put a nude broad on the 'single cover.' Of course, social networks like FB will be all like 'take it down' and iTunes will be all like 'n0 b00bz allowed.' Really desperate attempt to launch a meme. But at least the broad is 'mad hot', although full frontal would be appreciated.

Obviously, her band She & Him are trying to get in on the Christmas market to have some 'killer' holiday album sales. Feist FINALLY has a new album coming out that the entire world is waiting to judge. She used to be 'that Candian woman with bangs who sang the whimsical song in that iPad commercial', but now the pressure is on for her to deliver one of the greatest female albums of all time, even better than Carole King's "Tapestry."
If there's one thing we CAN say about Feist, is that she loves hopping on trends. She loved being in that iPod nano commercial back when iPods were a 'trend'. After the Arcade Fire won the most important Grammy of the year, 'going mainstream' for the sake of indie, it seems like Radiohead had to 'respond' and steal the headlines away. It must be a UK thing, like they wanted to let North America know that their music is 'way better'/'more relevant' than the crap we export from here. Really an unchill indie move by them, but I guess u shouldn't expect anything more from 'the Owl City of dubstep' as many critics call them.
The members of Radiohead say they'll make their eighth full-length album, The King of Limbs, available for purchase and download this coming Saturday on the band's website. According to the site, they're calling it "the world's first newspaper album." It includes two 10-inch vinyl records, a CD, more than 600 pieces of artwork and a digital download. The physical album will ship on May 9, while the downloadable version will be available Saturday.

Julian Casablancas, the 'frontman' of the hit 2k0s Manhattan-based buzzband "The Strokes" recently tweeted out a picture of the Strokes' new album art. Many ppl are 'anxiously awaiting' this album, saying that if the Strokes 'return to their roots', it has the chance to save both 2k11 AND retroactively save 2k10. However, the album cycle got off 2 a bad start now that Julian Casablancas has tweeted a photograph of the new album art.

Artistic analysis of the Strokes album art:
It seems like there is an African American basketball player who is just 'ballin', then a clown, who is like "Ur just a clown. Ur don't have a real job. Ur just genetically gifted 2 be good at an absurd sport. Ur life is meaningless. I make people laugh." Then there is a rainbow that represents "the gays", and how slutwave artists don't really care about gay people, but only see them as an audience that they can exploit. So the NBA player (potentially Kevin Garnett) is like "Ur gay, clown", representing how there aren't any 'openly gay' athletes in the NBA or NFL, and how professional sports + African American hiphop culture can still be kinda homophobic and unwelcoming of the LBGT community. They are both being pulled on a train, which represents how we are all slaves to society, and the goat represents 'the devil' and how he is looking over our society, giving the white clown power to oppress and control minorities, filling innercities with illegal drugs 2 fuel addiction. The waterfall represents the illuminati controlling the corn farming industry.

Best Coast and WAVVES are 'going out on tour' 2gether, and I think a new indie gimmick is to 'release a limited edition split 7" vinyl that fans can only purchase on the tour. "Summer Is Forever" is the title, but this isn't meant 2 be a standard 'this is a kewl new album' informative blog post. Instead, this is a chance 2 write a 'reaction piece' to the disgraceful album art doodling aesthetic.
Feel kinda 'grossed out' by the design of the album art. I really wanted to 'give them a chance' to 'rebrand' in 2k11, but this is just plain 'disgraceful.' Aliens. Marijuana. Some cat puking/vomiting all over the place.

Sorta weird how we spend so much time thinking abt how albums sound on the inside, but we don't really think abt how their album art impacts our visual representation of the album. So much pressure to write something 'brilliant' on the inside, but so many album covers 'effing suck.' It seems like Pitchfork named 'the worst album covers of 2k10' and MGMT, M.I.A. and the Kings of Leon were probs the 'most famous' bands on the list.
MIA's youtube loading bar gimmick 'totally failed' this year. No1 really liked her music, her art, her concepts, her memes, or her as a human being. Really bad 2k10 for her.
MGMT's CONGRATULATIONS album art seems to have 'flopped' just as hard as the album. Not sure if this is 'bad album art' or if Pitchfork is just mad because they didn't write songs that were as catchy as KIDS, ELECTRIC EELS, or TIME2PRETEND.

Cut Copy seems to have 'announced' new album art for their upcoming hit album ZONOSCAPE. Many indie industry experts see this as 'the first big album of 2k11', a year that is supposed to help us 'recover' from the poopfest that 2k10 was. In a previous post [link], HIPSTER RUNOFF claimed that the new Cut Copy MP3 "Where I'm Going" was the first mp3 of 2k11, even though it was released in July of 2k10.
It seems like based on their album art they are 'fully embracing' the concept of the indie cleansing that must take place in order 2 wipe away the terrible memory of 2k10. We have 2 start over. We have to let the Lord Saviour God Jesus Christ of Indie wipe away our sins [via apocalypse].

Kanye West is 'just another rapper' who sings abt 'banging chicks' and 'being the greatest', except every1 likes to pretend that he is a 'great artist' just because he utilizes gimmicks that are 'artsy' and dresses like a blipster. Not sure why ppl 'love' Kanye West so much. S000 boring 2 me. Not just because the rap genre is lame, but maybe I just resent products that lamestreamers utilize as a symbol of their multiculturalism / how they 'love' pop music as art, not just bc it is what is playing on the radio as they drive to their shitty job in their Honda Accord.
Anyways, he has some new 'album art' for some album that every1 is gonna say is 'awesome' because it is sooo shocking and graphic. It seems clear that he knew how it would be received, it would get banned [via The 'U Can't Sell Porn in WalMart' theory]. Now every1 gets to talk abt how 'He's just trying 2 be an artist, mayne.
