Yall. Don't u h8 when u think something is 'beautiful', then u find out that it it being used 2 sell u something? That's what happened 2 me when I saw this picture.

Initially, I thought that it was a beautiful picture that was about 'ending racism', celebrating 2 beautiful people coming together as 1 [via interracial couple]. But then I found out that it is an advertisement for a tennis shoe/ strip club / slice of white ass. Sad that the tennis shoe isn't featured in the picture.

'ugh'. Think that sometimes I assume that everything Kanye West makes is 'beautiful art' and don't realize that he is actually just 'trying to make money', or what rappers call 'hustling.'

Feel manipulated. It's kinda like when I see a beautiful logo that I would consider getting as a tattoo, but then I realize that it is part of a global brand. Thought I was gonna get this tattoo, but then I realized it belonged to CHILI's.

(Fortunately, I found out that it is a kick ass restaurant.)

In my digital art class, I actually made a symbol that looked like the 'Nike Swoosh' without even ever seeing it. I thought it was beautiful, but then my classmates accused me of 'ripping off Nike' and wondering 'how could u have never seen the Nike logo b4?'

Feel dumb when art = advertising, and I appreciate it too much when it I thought I was just admiring something beautiful.

But I did like the recent Am Appy custom Woody Allen campaign. Feel like it really went viral.

wish websites had 'billboards.' Think 'billboards' might be the most authentic artistic medium.

Felt sad when I read that famous street graffiti artist Banksy was actually hired by a Coalition of the Eastern world to spread anti-American messages [via internet viral campaign].

Does n e 1 know where I can get an advertising/marketing internship?

Yall. I'm kinda confused. When I went away to design school, I knew that I wanted to express myself. It's kinda hard 2. It's like the way that people consume and interpret information has totally changed. It keeps changing.

DOES N E 1 KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ART, DESIGN, AND MEMES?

I was looking at the FFFFound website, and it made me totally confused.

Is this art or a meme?

Is this art or a viral meme packaged as 'authentic' due to 'relevant commentary on the state of society'?

Is this a marketing viral meme by the Lego corporation, or just an internet meme that I am supposed to marvel at for 3.5 seconds, or art?

Is this art or meme or high priced gimmick art?

Is this architecture or just a meme marketing gimmick?

Is this art or just a viral marketing gimmick featuring Taye Zonday?

I'm just trying 2 design, yall. Want 2 change the world.

Do yall ever feel confused about the media that ur supposed 2 consume?
Don't yall feel like photography has s000 been cheapened by digital cameras?
Don't u wish u could live without the internet so u could experience art/memes/design?
Things r getting s0 modern. I always assumed that as things got more post-post-pre-modern, that we'd finally all 'get it.' These days I don't get n e thing.
Just want 2 understand what I'm supposed 2 appreciate in order 2 understand what's happening in the world, carry on relevant conversations with well-informed people about relevant topics, and be able to process this information in an efficient, valuable manner.

Banksy is a mysterious graffiti artist who gets a lot of buzz, but I'm not really sure why. Whenever I cross over to 'the wrong side of the tracks', I see tons of spray painted walls and murals by innercity children. I guess because he is all shady and anonymous, his brand was elevated 2 such great heights, but now some1 apparently took a picture of him and 'ruined the mystique for every1.'

Wearing a pulled-down green cap, a brown T-shirt and grey Adidas tracksuit bottoms, ‘Banksy’ scrambled to the top of the old container at the side of a busy highway, on which he had sprayed, ‘This Looks A Bit Like An Elephant’.

Banksy is known to go back to photograph his art, as revealed in his book Wall And Piece – and the man here was carrying a camera. [DailyMail]

Do yall think that this dude is Banksy, or just an art school bro trying to 'rip off' Banksy?
Is Banksy 'brilliant'? Or does he just draw entry level political cartoons on walls?
Did he just ride anti-Bush waves 2 gain popularity, and now he is boring bc Obama fixed the world? (Sorta like the Daily Show/Colbert Report being 'funnier' when a Republican is in office)

Is this dude Banksy or is he one of those dudes who is trying to make money so he spraypaints your address on the curb in front of your house?
