This weekend, Skrillex tweeted out a picture of a customized Heineken beer, complete with his name on it. While there was absolutely no reason to believe anything beyond this being a picture of a Heineken bottle with Skrillex's name on it, it truly begs the question: Is Heineken attempting to expand in American markets by developing a 'Skrillex flavored' beer? It would be a natural step for the brewing giant, as they have been the alcohol sponsor at many music festivals.
Many famous musicians, rappers, and personalities develop personal food and beverage products. Whether it is a sports drink, a fine wine, or even a custom line or Doritos, brands are ALWAYS looking for an opportunity to make a splash. Soon, Heiny might be the next big winner in the commodification of American dubstep.
Do u know what this will taste like?
Do u think the Skrillex beer will be extra hoppy? Extra wompy? Will it drop ur tummie?
Is this a good brand strat for Heineken?
Will this be available in American markets?
Does Heineken have a strong enough hold on 'young people' in the USA, or does it need to rebrand to appeal to 13-20 year olds with a solid marketing relaunch?
Do u want to eat/drink anything that is Skrillex flavored, or r u just gonna buy his eventual headphone line?
Please drink responsibly.
