Indie Buzzbands 2 watch in 2k10: Hooting@TheBlowfish

Hooting@the Blowfish is a new band that is coming out with a lot of sweet mp3s and getting lots of coverage on the pitchfork zine.

They seem to be a multiracial band, appealing to black people, indie people, alt people, and mainstreamers.

It seems like they just want to promote chill vibes to any1 looking to chill, and they seem to be one of the largest 'chill wave' bands on the planet. It seems like they have totally transcended the now defunct 'glo-fi' genre.

As you can see by their post-modern album cover, Cracked Rearview is surely going to change the way that music + album art are created for the rest of time.

I think that they will appeal to both young and old people.

Here is a video for their hit song 'Only Wanna Be With You'. This is a song about vulnerability & admitting that ur stuck with some1, and some1 is stuck with u. Sorta like that 1 Huey Lewis song.

It seems like with this song, they have transcended all genres. They are rock, chill, bro rock, country, and even 'music for black people.'

The lead singer, "hootie" seems to be emulating the Tiger Woods aesthetic, possibly sponsored b Nike.

The band seem like they are all very good friends. Like they can hang out at interracial watering holes, such as Chili's and Applebee's (but not McDonald's).

I think that this is their 'press photo' that magazines use when they blogwrite about them.

Here is the song 'Let Her Cry', a video about love, loss, and letting 'some dumb bitch' die alone.

I am excited about the Pitchfork magazine picking up on this band. I think that with the right amount of blog buzz, and coverage from magazines and Pitchforks, they will be around for a long time to come.

When I hear Hooting@the_blowfish, it makes me happy, as if I am actually experiencing the feeling that Louie Armstrong felt when he wrote the song 'What a Wonderful World', which is actually about a utopian music scene where all good music rises to the top, no matter what the members of the band look like, or what their aesthetic is. A lot of people say that the music industry is 'in the shitter', but I honestly believe these next 10 years are going to be the 'Golden Age' of Pop + Indie music.

Please friend this band on myspace, so that if they get big, we can say that we wrote about them first, and found out about them because of blogs.

Do you think this band will 'make it', or will they experience a 'backlash' if they get to popular?

Bands 2 watch in 2k10: The Stroke Bros

HIPSTER RUNOFF is 1st and 4most a music/mp3 blog. Sometimes the blogger Carles attempts to 'break' new bands that will be big in 2k n+1.5.

Hey yall... just heard this kewl new band. Think that they have good music and a good image. Will prbbly change rock n roll 4ever.

They seem like kewl bros. Might start dressing like them/designing clothes like theirs for my UrbanOutfitties internship.

Really enjoy this song 'Last Nights Party.' Might start a website about it.

I saw them in the popular Blog 'DavidLetterman.blogspot.com.'

</embed>

Seem like chill bros with authentic personal brands.

Saw this video where they are in a room that fills up with sewage, and talk about how u only live 1nce, so u have 2 make the most of it (might be a christian band?)

</embed>

I think that the Strokes Bros will probably be a big band in the next several years. Which 1 is the hottest?

I'm callin' it. They're the next _________.

Please let me know about more buzz bands that I need to blog about to keep my status as 'the best music blog in the history of music blogs.'

Peace!

Bands to watch in 2k12: The Outkasts

As Yall know, I am always searching 4 the most 'under the radar' band 2 blog about, and make my blog more valuable since I unearth Brooklyn Buzz Bands, and other bands that sound like they are good.

Today, I will blog about a band called the Outkasts of Society. I think their name is social commentary on being a black back in a white world.

One of them is a blipster and one of them is a 'thug.'

From what I can tell, their song "Hey Ya" also known as "Hey Yall" will probably be the next 'Young Folks' by Peter Bjorn and John

</embed>

I think they mite win a Grammy 1 day.

They have 2 different brands, but they merge together in order to form something authentic.

From what I can tell, their album cover is a metaphor about their President being black.

They are also political. They have a song about the War on Terror In Iran/Afghanistan called 'Bombs Over Baghdad.'

</embed>

I think they have a brand of 'dudes who probably cum on a lot of girls' to 'dehumanize' them.

But that's why they are so brilliant. Their best song is probably "I'm Sorry Ms. Jackson." In the song, the Outkasts sing to a mom of a girl who they got pregnant.

Do yall think this band is 'cool'?
Do u think they will be the next Cool Kids/Spank Rock/ Bloc Party / Oasis / Metro Station?
Is this what music will sound like after bloghouselectro/AnCo dies?
Do u think this band will 'make it' in the emerging BLIPSTER demographic who don't value the traditional 'thug values' of yester-year's rappers?

We finally did it.

[Via Music Television Buzzworth Blog]
We finally did it.
We "made it."
We are more than just blogworthy--We are buzzworthy.
When I was young, I would watch MTV, and watch 'rock stars'
then 'rock stars' turned into 'hip hop stars'
then 'hip hop stars' turned into 'alternative rock icons'
then 'alternative rock' turned into 'indie'
then 'indie' kinda of turned into some weirdo 'power pop stuff'

I sort of grew out of what MTV told me was 'cool'
but like the Martin Lawrence King Jr.--I had a dream
A dream that one day
the mainstream perception media moguls
would realize that the alternative population was justified
for being vehement supports of 'what we like'
That it is better than what they listen to
because the reason we like it
is more 'organic' than the reason that they like it.

One day we will take over
and mainstream will be alt
and alt will be mainstream
and the term 'maltstream' will no longer describe things like the Garden State Soundtrack

Our minds will be free of the 'pressure' to think about so many external factors
and bros will no longer be able to argue 'Why can't u just like the music because it sounds good?"
Because there will be no more external factors
Because we will all like the best music for the right reasons
The must will just sound good.

We are buzzworthy.
We are more than just a meme.
We have created an artistic space
where the mainstream can consume us.
This is every artist's goal [via monetization].
