Yall. Was just browsing the internet and saw this flyer thing. Does n e 1 know if Cut Copy has a new album coming out? Did they create a flyer to promote their upcoming album IN GHOST COLOURS? Kinda confused. I h8 the internet because nothing has an authentic context. u just kinda have 2 guess what everything means. The internet would be better if there was some sort of unified wikipedia tagging system that gave everything a bit more ‘meaning’/'context.’

Does any one know what the key on the bottom left corner is? My Dell desktop keyboard has a “C” and a “V” key, but there isn’t one with that weird symbol on it. Might have to get a USB keyboard attachment or download a ‘weird characters’ app. I hope that some1 makes an ‘app store’ for PCs. Personal Computers could use some of the functionality that iPhones have. Does n e 1 else agree/want to start a ’startup’ with me?

I have a lot of ideas about technology and user experiences, but need to go to technical college to be able to execute them. Might regret going down the ‘design school’ route. :-(

When I heard this remix by Cut Copy of Maroon 5’s “This Love”, a lot of stuff went through my head:

Has Cut Copy officially ‘made it’?

Why is Maroon 5 trying 2 be alt and having a remix contest?

Why is Maroon 5 releasing a ‘remix album’?

Are we about to enter the era of excessive REMIX products by mainstream artists?

Should I ‘give this remix a chance’?

Could I imagine lead singer Adam Levine as an ‘authentic disco singer over a DFA-sounding product’?

Will I ever be able to think of the world as not being a constant struggle between mainstream & alt?

Would I be more open to this remix if James Murphy/Frankmusik/Girl Talk/some other alt-male singer was singing?

Is this remix authentic? Do yall like it, or does it make u uncomfortable?

I guess this song didn’t make it on to “In Ghost Colours”, but I feel comfortable with a [rarity] in my iTunes library that I can play for people so they can say “ooo this is Cut Copy? I’ve never heard this s0ng but it t0tes sounds like them. Was about to ask if it was them.”

Was In Ghost Colours the top album of 2k_?
As a blog, am I required to make a ‘best of 2k8′ list?

[Important question]

Is it against the rules to blog about an mp3 without a picture?
Is it against the Blog Commandments to blog without a foto that vaguely applies 2 ur post?

You might know the progressive record label MODULAR as the legal owners of some of your favourite bands like Cut Copy, The Presets, Ladyhawke, New Young Pony Club, or Van She. I was really intrigued by their latest marketing campaign for their new t-shirts.

I know that masked DJs were big in 2k8.1, but are they really a significant enough demographic to dedicate a high-quality press photo to? If DJs wear a mask for too long, will it take over their bodies? Is this what happened to Daft Punk?

I think these photos might be a statement about the way America treats prisoners of the war on terror.

It might actually be a good business practice to take away attention from a model’s alt presence while they are wearing your product. For example, there is the classic Dim Mak collection photo with a kutie who other girls might be jealous of and a kreepie in the background who might not be edgy enough to encourage bros to buy the shirts.

Do u think these models wear the shuttershade shirts when they go out with groups of their closest friends?

Overall, I’d say the trashbag-skinned Modular photos might be a design & marketing success. While part of me feels bad for the model who can’t breathe, I’m glad I can just focus on the t-shirt and not some alt who has a deep gaze into the distance.

Buy/Info About these kute shirts
http://www.modularpeople.com/blog/?p=183

When are there too many remixes? Does too many rmxes take away value from your product? Is it shortsighted to think that ‘the more rmxes, the better’?

[Where connections = remixes]

I rlly like Cut Copy, and all of these authorized remixes by artists who are relevant/worthy of remixing them, but as a consumer, it is natural for me to want a new product.
“Hearts on Fire” already has rmxes by:

Knightlife

Joakim

Holy Ghost

Midnight Juggernauts

Damage

(some1 else?)

Should there be a limit on the number of remixes that can be done on one song? I’d say 3.5 is a safe number, but usually you should have 1 great dance remix, and an additional banger or ‘concept’ remix based on ur band’s brand. If u worked for a major independent electro indie record label, what would u suggest during a brainstorming session?
