Hey look, it is the popular mexi alt screamo crunk wave band BROKENCYDE. Kinda miss them. Wish they could be integrated more into rave culture. Do yall remember when the popular 2k9 meme which was Brokencyyde's hit anthem "FREAXX" hit the internet? Every1 in the high level indie blogosphere was making fun of it, because it mashed up numerous low-end genres. Screamo, emo, crunk, hiphop, horrorcore, and anything else that the poor/uneducated/young/impressionable end up listening to. We all 'laughed at it' as we gawked at Brokencyde's interpretation of the world.
Many claimed that this was just a strategic internet meme, and there was no real band behind this brilliant anthem about 'getting freaky.' However, there is actually a Brokencyde, and they have a core group of fans who show up 2 their shows. Do yall know if there is a difference between 'emos' and 'scene juggalos' and 'nightmare before Christmas Teens' and 'Hot Topic bros'?
Is there an official word for an African American emo / juggalo / scene person?
Not sure what the deal with those neon troll feet is. Would probably just wear lace up converse shoes to 'get my dance on' without worrying about walking in puddles of water
Fuzzle wuzzle feet
Wonder if ur parents drop u off like that, or do u bring a lil bag with ur zany accessories to change into while ur waiting in line?
Really miss the era of myspacers worth blogging about [via OMG WTF]
Should I turn my Green Day tshirt into a bikini?
Here's some more Brokencyde just so u can vibe out to some crunk haus while u read this post.
Looks sorta like an ethnic version of the Crystal Castles album cover.
Scared of this mexi alt. Worried abt his eye balls / retinas

I started this blog to post bangers, but it ended up giving me a great opportunity to vent about things that I feel passionate about. I remember the night that I started this blog, I was stealing wifi in a Best Buy Parking Lot, and I tried to overdose on an unknown drug, but then I started a blog instead, and became the first blog to ever blog about Justice. The rest is history, and now a lot of historians consider HRO to be the voice of "the specialest generation in the history of the world."
While some people get off to standing on the sidelines of life, and just making snarky comments about things that are actually important, I'm not one of those people. I don't have a blog that makes fun of issues, other humans, or important social and cultural movements. It's important to take things seriously, because we don't want to become a society where the dumb people are watching TV in HD, and the educated people are commenting about stuff that the dumb people are into on the internet.
Most blogs have remained incredibly silent on this issue, but I am taking a stand.
Here are several solutions for ending the emo war:
1. Have the United Nations drop care packages full of Ed Banger Sampler CDs and iPod shuffles pre-loaded with mixes selected by Gorilla Vs. Bear.
2. Set up INTERNMENT CAMPS, kind of like what America did with the AZNs after that Pearl Harbor thingie, except with EMOs.
3. Send them all on a boat to Australia, but only let them settle in the part that Mad Max was filmed in.
4. The US government can double the yearly-salaries of all of the World's Top Alternative Celebrities, and have them rehabilitate and educate emo kids on the campus of the New School.
5. Set up a reality show that's kind of like KID NATION meets a SURVIVOR type of show.
6. Just chill out and see what happens.
Do you have a solution to end the EMO WARS?
I can't believe EMO kids are being hunted down and beaten in Mexico. Basically, the heavy metal kids, punks, pop-listeners, skaters, goths, and every other subculture is having rallies in order to FIGHT AGAINST THE EMOS.
From a Mexican emo war reporter's blog:
The spark came first in Queretaro on March 7. An estimated 800 young people poured into the city's Centro Historico hunting for emos to beat the crap out of. They found some. The next weekend it spread to Mexico City, where emos faced off against punks and rockabillies at the Glorieta de Insurgents, the epicenter of emo social space in the capital. There's also been reports of anti-emo violence in Durango, Colima, and elsewhere.
Here's a video from it. You can really see the tension between the EMOS and the PUNKS:

Anyways, I just wanted to congratulate Mexico on going out of it's way to EXTERMINATE a trend, as opposed to just simply moving into a new consumer-driven trend with a little bit of a self-loathing tone.
It's good to see that people can unite using the internet, and stand up for a cause. I mean, myspace drama is one thing, but to transform that passion into a WITCH HUNT where emo kids are beaten down in broad daylight is simply amazing. Maybe Obama should stand up agains the emos.
I think the thing that is the most disappointing about this whole re-introduction of EMO into my sphere of consciousness is that there still isn't really a definite answer on 'What emo is.' I always thought the American meaning of 'emo' was sort of ambiguous, but it's good to know that the Mexicans went ahead and set the definition EMO=PUSSY WHO SHOULD BE LYNCHED.
It's also important to take some time to celebrate your consumer self-awareness, and your freedom to express yourself without fear of one group of idiots killing your group of idiots. It's good to live in a country where we can transition from partaking in one trend to a complete new one, without having to explain why we decided to change.
I [HIGHLY REC] reading more about Mexico's systematic extermination of emos. There are even suggestions of government conspiracy.
