Plastic Operator's "Different Places" has been out for a while, but is still worth blogging about. It was released by Fine Day Records.

"Different Places" reminds me of the music you listened to right after the Postal Service "changed your life." Artists like the Notwist or the Go Find, but some of the songs have more drive than the stuff from back then. Most of the songs are pleasantly poppy in an electronic way that will eventually find their way into an independent film or advertising campaign for a Fortune 500 company. It's a good listen, and an album you should probably own in your digital music collection. There's a track on there for every one, so you should probably listen to a few more at their myspace.
And for people who need some namedrops to give a band cred, here's something from their myspace blog:
Following in the footsteps of Au Revoir Simone, who played at his show in previous years, Plastic Operator has been invited by hot French designer Robert Normand to play live during his Paris Fashion Week show on September 30th, 2007.
The album is available at the Fine Day Records Shop.
