BLOGVILLE is creaming about the latest Snoop Dogg video. It's pretty okay. I guess it's different than BOOTY VIDz or whatever.

The video reminds me of Gil Mantera's Party Dream's video for "Elmo's Wish." A much better song, and an even more ridiculously great video.

"Elmo's Wish" is probably one of my favourite songs of all time, and the album "Bloodsongs" transcends the realm of the MP3 Blogtown.

Fantasy Mirrors is a band that you should know about.

Fantasy Mirrors is often referred to as "the euro-disco bastard child of Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer." They have opened for Canadian Electro-Rockers Shout Out Out Out Out and were handpicked by Freezepop to open their album release show last month. Fantasy Mirrors is huge in Boston and gaining cred in all relevant corners of the country.

Fantasy Mirrors is a band that's easy to enjoy, except if you have a stick up your ass. Their music is kind of like the fun+absurdist core stuff like Gil Mantera's Party Dream. Synths, great lyrics, a stimulating live show, dude with keytar, etc, etc, etc. What more do you need?

They are playing Jezebel Music Feature Show on Thursday October 25, 2007 at the Union Pool. Will you be there?

Fantasy Mirrors is currently in the studio working on their debut electronic disco album loosely based on "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea." I will be blogging about that album.

A couple of years ago, I was at some pre-blogosphere house party in Austin, and happened to wander into a packed room with a band playing hit after hit after hit. The band's name is L.A.X., so naturally, it took me a good 3 years to find their web presence on google, instead of the Los Angeles airport.

Can you go wrong with cute girl voice plus dude on vocoder?

LAX has been through a few lineup changes, but their sound is definitely worth blogging about. Just for the sake of cross referencing, I could see people who are into Ladytron, Gil Mantera's Party Dream, or any thing else that sounds like "A house beat making love with synth."

They're probably my favourite Austin band.
