I tried 2 go viral by making a "Shit Lana Del Rey Says" video
</embed>

Sometimes I feel like a slave 2 the content
a true piggybacker
knowing that I will only have 1 moment 2 shine
This is it.

It is my right as an internet user
2 share my own vision on a topic that is #trending
adding cultural commentary
because I exist at the intersection of culture and culture

I am a content creator
Sometimes I feel like the star of the most interesting, comical, enlightening viral video of all time
called 'Shit That I Say'

I will share this link with my friends
they will give me kind feedback on it
Most of them will simply 'LIKE' it to avoid having to actually comment on it
Because I make them cringe, not just because I am legitimately 'not funny'
but because I am just 'trying so goddamned hard'

I am a hipster basher
I am an LDR basher
I am a ____ basher
Bashy McBashBashing is the Purest Art Form

On the internet, no1 is a spectator
We are all living, breathing, creating culture
Providing valuable cultural commentary
Which will exist in the cloud until #SOPA2: The Legend of Meme Gold

Capitalizing on tricky titles and manipulated search rank
in order to get 'mad views' from confused tweens who are Google infants

Sometimes I wonder
if we are all in an eternal youtube video
entitled
'Shit Ppl Who are Trying 2 Go Viral Say'

But srsly
that first video was kinda funny
if u r in2
Street Fighter 2 humor #Ryu #Blanka

Were any of these videos 'funnie' or were they all 'effing terrible'?

I want to go to a College that teaches this class. I would get a B+.

I was reading a blog, and I saw a video about a class that they teach at a progressive university. The point of the class is 2 'get famous' on the internet. It seems like a class that I would be good at. I h8 traditional classes like 'chemistry', 'psychology' and 'Latin American Studies.' I just want to be at a school that understands my existential needs, and what inspires me.

From what I understand, u r supposed to find a way to establish a personal brand and 'go viral' on the internet.

Sometimes I wonder if u even need college. Like if ur passionate enough about going viral, u can make n e thing happen. Kinda like the Choco Rain guy. He had a plan and didn't need a college education to make it happen. A lot of people want 2 'be famous' on the internet, but I they'd realize that if ur uninteresting enough to 'find meaning' in real life, then ur life/opinions/self-generated memes probably aren't interesting enough to make u a compelling figure 4 some1 2 follow on a daily basis. Not even if u r an altbro in a Basquiat shirt riding in a thong then vimeoing about it.

FEel like s0 many people try to 'find meaning' on the internet, or they think they deserve to 'get paid' [via advertising revenue] for just sharing their memes. They are s0 out of touch with reality. It's kinda weird how not even that many people want to be 'mainstream famous' any more. A more authentic version of fame comes with being 'microfamous' via the internet. Some people also want 2 b 'macro-anonymous.'

I feel like social networks, meme proliferation, and services that allow u to get feedback from a 'tribe' are bad for society/our economy. There are startup companies, bands, and web-based businesses that feel like they are 'making progress' because they sign up for social networks and get more feedback than ever. But every1 is getting feedback. It's just part of being alive on the internet. Just makes me kind of sad when a band 'thinks they are getting better and have a relevant fan base' when they have actually just been hanging around on the internet for weeks. Just think it's kinda funny/sad when entities 'stay alive' longer than they should just because they have THE INTERNET to exist as this entity.

Kinda like when some one 'makes a logo' for a cool new venture/blog/website that they are starting, then they make a myspace+twitter+fb group, and then they start being an ass hole about their venture. U wish they would just interact with u from their own profile, instead of [venture-name]@gmail.com. It gets sad, and eventually, their web venture fails. They don't achieve their goals/fame/success/monetization. They probably put it on their resume, like ass holes, and will try to tell old people who interview them for a 'real job' that they 'had a startup company' just because they had a twitter and an ebay store.

Do yall know n e 1 like this? Do u h8 when people glorify these types of people for 'having an entrepreneurial spirit'?

Just sayin yall.... don't put all ur eggs in 1 basket. Even if u do get 'internet famous', it doesn't mean u'll get money 4 it, and it doesn't mean ur life will be meaningful. Not every1 can be Mark Zuckerberger.

But srsly... do yall think that class is 'bullshit'? I think that professor probably 'just gives every1 As' at the end of the semester, even the 'cunty, untalented girl' who 'shouldn't be at design school.' Can some1 tell that professor not to give the people in that video 'points' for the class even though I blogged about them? h8 helping ppl.
What grade do u think U would get in that class?
What obvious strategies would u use to 'build a following'?
Just want to be comfortable with who I am [in real life AND on the internet].

////I want 2 be famesies.'
Just want to 'get paid' and be 'critically acclaimed' for 'being myself' and 'living life' by 'being on the internet for 70% of my life.'

Memes that went viral b4 the internet: 'Do the coloureds and poors know it's Christmas? [via the Third World]'
</embed>

I can't imagine how memes 'went viral' b4 the internet created an incubator in which 2 spread. How was the whole world able to rally behind an Xmas wish 4 ppl who aren't educated enough to 'get' the concept of Christmas? Weird 2 see old memes/people like Bono, Sting, Boy George, Steve Aoki, Ronald Reagan, and other vintage musical celebs who turned into vh1 legends. Even if their lives' have fallen apart since then, it's refreshing 2 know that celebrity pseudo-humanitarianism existed b4 the Barrack Obama Incident. Kinda a bummer that I have 2 see this video every winter--it reminds me that there are less fortunate ppl in the world on one of the most fortunate days of the year 4 me.

Like the authentic disco bassline in the s0ng, tho. It's a shame that such a beautiful song was ruined by content that wasn't about partying/relationships. I just hope that all of the bloghouse producers create some sort of super-group-for-a-cause, collaborating [via] the internet ( a modern version of the Postal Services).

I also wonder how long this xmas meme will be around. I think it will probably die about 30 years after Bono/Sting/Boy George dies. HOPE memorable Obama supergroup collab videos stick around to remember 4ever.

XX PERSONAL NOTE XX

h8 being home. Started off alright. had 2 go 2 the mall 2 do some last minute shopping. s00 many entry levelers & mexicalts everywhere. It's like they don't have a home and live at the mall. Wish they'd get jobs at the food court instead of stealing from mall kiosk entrepreneurs. Kinda ruined my day. Had a soft pretzel and an Icee. My tongue turned red and I started crying. Reminded me of Sparks.

What’s the difference between art, design, and memes?

Yall. I'm kinda confused. When I went away to design school, I knew that I wanted to express myself. It's kinda hard 2. It's like the way that people consume and interpret information has totally changed. It keeps changing.

DOES N E 1 KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ART, DESIGN, AND MEMES?

I was looking at the FFFFound website, and it made me totally confused.

Is this art or a meme?

Is this art or a viral meme packaged as 'authentic' due to 'relevant commentary on the state of society'?

h8 u Banksy. H8 u graffiti 'art' memes.

Is this a marketing viral meme by the Lego corporation, or just an internet meme that I am supposed to marvel at for 3.5 seconds, or art?

Is this art or meme or high priced gimmick art?

Is this architecture or just a meme marketing gimmick?

Is this art or just a viral marketing gimmick featuring Taye Zonday?

I'm just trying 2 design, yall. Want 2 change the world.

Do yall ever feel confused about the media that ur supposed 2 consume?
Don't yall feel like photography has s000 been cheapened by digital cameras?
Don't u wish u could live without the internet so u could experience art/memes/design?
Things r getting s0 modern. I always assumed that as things got more post-post-pre-modern, that we'd finally all 'get it.' These days I don't get n e thing.
Just want 2 understand what I'm supposed 2 appreciate in order 2 understand what's happening in the world, carry on relevant conversations with well-informed people about relevant topics, and be able to process this information in an efficient, valuable manner.

I am going to throw away my iPod // Microsoft is conceptual authentic alt
</embed>

I am going to throw away my iPod because this Microsoft Zune ad appeals to me.
The main reason this commercial appeals to me is bc of
a) the Digitalism Shinichi Osawa rmx in the background
b) I love to squirt stuff out of my butt
c) 2 many entry level alts bought macbooks
d) the new macbooks don't even look that g00d
e) Microsoft hired the same people who made the Diesel XXX 'SFW Porn' ads in an attempt 2 go mega viral
f) I luv fat hairy bears
g) I h8 Girl Talk
h) Bill Gates paid for my college bc I am from the 3rd World and have a disease
i) I have a coolhunting/trendspotting blog that hosts Microsoft ads
j) Part of the Viral nvr dies
k) I go to art school, and my professor doesn't 'get' me bc he says I am just trying 2 b quirky cuz I am a projectile poo+paint artist
l) choose.your.own.response

UR A MAC
AND I SHOOT STUFF OUT OF MY BUTT/AM AN ARTIST

In the middle of the PC vs Mac war, will Mac respond by making a viral snuff film? Love ya Steve Jobs! Just tryin 2 help u find a way to market 2 trendsetting audiences.

Am I still edgy if I post the Diesel SFW Porn vid even though it's 100 blog years old?
After a meme 'goes viral', don't u feel a lil sad that it didn't 'live 4ever.'

THE GUY FROM PNAU: A GENIUS?

I just googled "guy from PNAU" to find out the name of the zany guy from PNAU. Of course every1 likes Pnau's hit song featuring Ladyhawke entitled "EMBRACE."

I never knew Nick Littlemore was such an essential creative hub for some of the best blog tunes of 2k8 (a.k.a. mainstream music for Aussies).

Nick Littlemore's projects:
1. Pnau
2. Empire of the Sun
3. Teenager (no yall, not the Teenagers. hehe. I'm a sillie blogger. laters)

EMPIRE OF THE SUN seems like What Music Will Sound Like/Music Videos will look like in 2k12 (in a g00d way). This song may or may not be the song the blogosphere has been waiting for all summer.
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmM2RwlxGt0&hl=en&fs=1]
(Nick Littlemore loves to take his shirt off).
The video also features the best face paint mask since the Heartsrevolution broad.

I also dig the song "Alone Again" by TEENAGER. It makes me want to be in an innocent, tug-filled high school relationship again (just went through a bad breakup with my HS significant other of 6 years). This song is like 30 blog years old, though, but moderately uncovered since it was before Ladyhawke and Pnau had built their [HIGHLY BLOGGABLE] brands.

(Nick Littlemore loves to take his shirt off.)

When will Nick Littlemore extend his personal brand? I think he needs to do a few remixes of moderately popular artists under his own name.

If I had a lame music magazine, I would put Nick Littlemore on the cover, and have a sensationalist issue title, such as "The Savior of Blog House" or some other crap that would enrage/intrigue bloggers, and enabling the cover would go 'alt-viral.'

High End Pop for Refined Electro Ears

I think an advantage of having ELECTRO EARS is that you are more likely to appreciate high-end conceptual pop. Frankmusik is a great example of an artist in this genre. Basically, high end pop the kind of music that makes you wonder why popular mainstream pop acts don't have these usually-European producers make their songs for them. Or usually it's only a matter of time until a High End Pop act produces a forgotten track on a Brit Spears or Ashlee Simpson album.

I also feel like it's the European/foreign females who utilize producers like KLEERUP (Lykke Li and Robyn) before Americans do it, so they have more 'cred' in alternative circles in an 'authentic' kind of way. For some reason I assume this is why Kyle Minogue is respected by 'every one.'

You could make an argument that most bloghouse/electro music is 'high end pop.' U know...like mainstreamers drink Keystone Light and alts drink GreyGoose/Sparks/box wine...or a metaphor like that...

I read in a blog that Girl Talk is the only ALT who still listens to the FM radio.

Also, I am basically mesmerized by the kutie in Frankmusik's "In Step" video. s0 curvie...
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yBaFtE34Fw&hl=en&fs=1]
Love the tug job ending! I feel like this video was designed to 'go viral' in Europe.

I am s0 glad that I can appreciate high-end pop, and people who don't 'get' it probably just need to read m0re bl0gs that post progressive media that challenges us to be better connoisseurs of 'the arts.'

Let's all try to be better people in the 2nd half of 2k8 (yall).

High End Pop might also be the upper limit of the 'faggy electro' genre.

Crappy alt rock band OK GO keeps trying to 'go viral' even though no1 likes their music
</embed>

"They've done it again. The Ok, Lets Go Yall are simply brilliant modern visionaries who truly understand how to market their products on the web using viral videos to go viral and generate organic buzz." -a tween who is analyzing social media

Not sure what the deal with OK GO is. They went 'viral' one time because they did a zany dance on some treadmills when youtube first started/allowed videos to go viral, so now their whole career is all about 'trying to re-capture the magic again' and 'go viral.' Seems like they don't even spend much time 'writing music' any more. Instead, they are just all like 'let's poop out an mp3, then spend 6 months training dogs/figuring out zany dance moves + video effects so we can go viral.'

Might become a video director and charge them $1 million for the 'golden' viral idea.

Do u think the treadmill video was 'overrated'? Do u think OKGO helped youtube 'go viral'?

Does OKGO need to 'stop trying to go viral' all of the time?
Do they have a core group of fans that 'like' their music, or does every1 only really pay attention to them when they watch 1 of their new videos, then they are like, 'ya, not as good as that first video. Also just so many memes these days that u really gotta step up ur game if u wanna go mad viral.'

Will never forget the time me and my bros 'went viral' at our high school talent show by performing the OK GO viral video 'live.' Since every1 uses youtube, they were able to immediately identify, and connect with our art.

</embed>

Is OK GO the epitome of lame 'mainstream indie rock'?
Do u h8 marketing strategists who are obsessed with 'organic buzz marketing' + 'going viral'?
Should OK GO release a 'sex tape' 2 go viral?
Should OK GO 'mutilate' their sex organs to get people to buy their music?
Is being in a buzzband all abt 'making memes' or 'making music?
