Does an authentic disco band like Hercules and Love Affair automatically transform any song into a 100% authentic experience, even if they are 'mainstream alt legends' like Cut Copy?
I feel like Hercules & Love Affair is so authentic that my parents 'made me listen 2 it' as a kid or something.

I read about TIEDYE on BiBaBiDi, and I was intrigued because they are on the ITALIANS DO IT BETTER rcrd label. This label has 2 of my most-played bands of 2k7: Glass Candy & The Chromatics. I used to think GlassCandy/The Chromatics were pretty authentic, but I think things are getting waaay more authentic. You can't just have a heavy arpeggio and a cute broad with a decent voice singing any more.
Authentic disco is pretty complex, because it can be fun, but at the same time, it can be rlly meaningful. It's for high-end markets who truly appreciate audio production, musical history, and fitting in. What other authentic disco acts do you listen to?

I think Hercules and Love Affair was sorta a buzz hit wonder and no1 really vibes out to them as hard as they did when they came to market, but they did some cover of the XX's "Shelter." It has a bunch of bleeps and bloops and is 'chill' and 'vintage electro house' or whatever a music critic would call it. Sorta reminds me of the time I went to a gay bar and accidentally did too many poppers and then I woke up the next morning shooting low budget gay porn in a random beachside condo in South Florida.
Anyways, do yall think that this 'cover' is 'amazing' or did they ruin the xx?
