British Youtube Tween goes 'big in Japan' because she looks like an anime character

I just read some article about how a British tween has become a cultural sensation + icon in Japan. Apparently, she has a youtube channel where she dances around to Japanimation anime music. Due to her figure + body type, she closely resembles an anime character (wide face, big eyes, a thin bod, and a sweet, sweet rack of formative teen breasts).  Mixed with her dancing + youtubing talent, she has 'climbed to the top of the Japanese charts' since some1 found a way to monetize her.  Nothing more inspiring than a youtube tween sensation 'selling units' in foreign markets.

Here is basically the 'background info' on this lil broad:

A British schoolgirl is set to top the charts in Japan after her YouTube clips became an internet sensation.
Rebecca Flint - a 14-year-old who calls herself Beckii Cruel - releases her debut album today to much excitement in the land of the rising sun.
Her webpage is the second most subscribed by music fans in Japan and she has already performed live in Tokyo.
Rebecca, from the Isle of Man, first came to attention on YouTube where millions watched her dance to J-Pop (Japanese pop music) and the theme tunes of anime cartoons.

Feel free to watch one of her lil dance videos to 'get a better feel' on this tween.

Maybe she is the Japanese version of Miley Cyrus / Hannah Montana, except she doesn't sext pictures of herself to bros. I have a feeling that this girl probably appeals to grown Japanese men, though.

Do u feel turned on by white girls who wish they were AZN / Japanese?  Or do you think men are programmed to be 'turned on' by girls ages 13-20 because those were their formative sexual years?

</embed>

Maybe it doesn't matter what culture ur a part of--all that really matters is the simple truth that 'sex sells.' As 'cute' of a story it is that UK tween became a big deal in Japan, maybe they are just into her because of the same reasons America got into Britt Spears 'back in the day.'

Basically, I think she appeals to Japanese people because this is their idea of 'the perfect woman.'

Wonder how easy it is to be 'big in Japan.'  It seems like an absurd place, where nothing makes sense.  In America, there are tons of creative agencies that can bring products to market because the hype system in the USA is pretty standard.  I wonder if it is the same way in Japan, or if it is 'totally random'?

I feel like the concept of being 'big in Japan' has sort of been branded as 'having an authentic niche of fans who appreciate your quirkiness on a level that the Western World could not.' Going to the Far East to find acceptance seems to have been around since after America dropped a couple of bombs on them.  Maybe it is some sort of 'white/yellow guilt' to seek their acceptance after we 'bombed them back to the stone age.'

I would guess that people in Japan aren't really into the 'relevant indie scene.' The things that they value as pillars of mainstream / alt culture aren't really what USA + UK + Canadian markets would value.  Wonder how/when our alternative paths diverged.

From what I understand, they are probably living in a different environment. A place where they have Toyotan cultural ideals of honor and fairness, but then use cartoons as a way to escape into a dream world.  Maybe they are seeking some sort of insane escapism to deal with the bomb drop less than 100 years ago.

Feel like I might not overthink our cultural divide, and just watch clips of Japanese game shows. I will 'laugh' at the disconnect between American culture and Japanese culture, but then maybe come to the conclusion that 'all humans are the same' because we just want to escape from 'the grind' of daily life.  We just want things 2 laugh at, things 2 distract us from how sad/trapped we might feel on the inside.

Who gets more joy out of the human Tetris meme: the Japs or the Americans?

I wonder if Beckii Cruel will become an American sensation. Like she will perform with the Jonas Brothers / Justin Bieber. I think that if those bands want to break into Japanese markets, they should probably utilize her.

Maybe Japanese people are into them because they want to be white. Lots of American whites are into black music because they 'want to be black', so maybe Beckii Cruel represents an ideal identity that they can obtain by consuming different media/art/goods.

Maybe Beckii Cruel is the new ternative.

Do yall think Beckii Cruel is 'fucking hot'?
Do u like her dance moves?
R u in2 'hentai' porn
Will Pitchfork review her new album?
What does it take to be 'big in Japan'?
Do you think Westerners who get into Eastern cultures probably had a hard time fitting in during middle + high school?
Would Japanese people 'get' AnCo?
Do u think Japanese people would find American culture to be 'fucking boring'/uninspired?

AZN TREND WATCH

As yall know, 70% of the world's most innovative/zany trends from from the Land of AZNS (Asia). Trends travel across the land bridge to California and Eastern Europe, eventually making their way to Middle America/mainstreamerdom within 3 years. Just wanted 2 take a look at what AZNs have been wearing & predict which trends will reach the Mexicalt population in 5 years.

Trend 1: Protect Urself From Dirty Air

As yall know, there is a lot of noise and air pollution in our world. AZNs have a lifespan that is 200% longer than white & black ppl's natural life--they take better care of themselves than we do [via only eating fish + noodles + rice]. The AZNs are beginning to mix fashion with health safety by wearing these protective masks. They also banned fastfood in Japan after seeing the hit mockumentary Super Size Me: Fast Food Nation.

Trend 2: Bangs Which Impair ur vision [via bowl cut]/critters around ur neck

I think that bangs which impair ur vision might be big in 2k9. Bangs are theoretically functional. They 'keep hair out of ur eyes' and help to 'frame ur face.' I think taking a little bit of that functionality away might help bangs stay around forever. AZNs 'get' where engineering, design, and personal branding come 2gether as one. In addition, AZNs will no longer use gigapets/Tamagachis in 2k9. They will have 'real' pets that they can wear. These real pets will be controllable through iPod Nanos.

Trend 3: AZNs who look like this //Where the Wild Things Are

I am not sure if I will still be attracted to women if they morph into neon creatures from the hit children's book 'Where the Wild Things Are.' Not sure if I support these AZNs and their zany personal brands. h8 neon azn beast glam rockers.

But srsly yall... after we rebuilt Japan post-nuclear bomb WWII, should we have given it a new name?
Something like 'California Pt 2' or 'Broville' or 'Gizmodo' or 'TechCrunchville' or 'The Land of Gigapets' or 'Trend City USA'?

Third Eye (Blind/Alt)

[Street Clash Image Street Fashion Blog]

It's important for both sides of the impending Electro War between France and Australia to remember that there will be serious repercussions if either side decides to use nuclear weapons. I'm really worried about the electroFallOut if things go wrong. I know that some alts have gold skin, and fake eyes as accessories, but if we become contaminated, it might change our personal brands forever.

If I had 3 eyes, would my shutter shades/wayfarers/FGGT goggles stop working? If I had g0ld skin, would girls/gheys still want 2 tug me? h8 thinking about change. I am only now starting 2 'feel comfortable with who i am, and what my personal brand has evolved into since age 12', so if I had to overcome any sort of 'deformity', it would be rlly tuff. Kinda like when ugly people 'try to fit in' with mainstream crowds, then they don't, then they try to fit in with alt crews, but then they realize they are ugg and can't fit in any where, and end up listening to krappy music.

Right now, this bro is a 'freak', but what if we lived in a future where every1 'was a freak.' Then 'normal' would be redefined, and we'd have to redefine 'alternative' too. Just a lot of busy work that I'm not sure I'd have time 2 complete.

s00 w0rried about nucular fallout. g0nna suck. Every1 needs to realize that wars are SRSLY serious. Wish I could talk to Barry Obama in one of those debate thingies to let him know what our real problems are. h8 politix...kinda wish the government was 'a blog' and we could just vote on things using polls, and if u had a complaint, u could just leave a scathing cmmnt.

Cute AZNs start global trends

'Every thing cool comes from Japan,' is a statement that I've heard relatively frequently whenever a trend or fad takes the world by storm. This would include phenomena like Tamagachis, neon colors, graphic tees, pogs, the Power Rangers, or baseball. This group of Korean teens remind me of Japanese people, so can you identify any trends in this pic that will invade the Western World by 2k20?

Most trends may or may not originate at the red spots of this map

BUT SERIOUSLY
where do u think the best global trends originate?

Winter Suggestion

Here's an eyecatching, yet subtle print that transfers perfectly to both the jacket and tech vest.

It seems ideal if you live in a community where you need to wear something more than American Apparel to "stand out" like you think you should.

It's a collaboration by Nike and Japanese retailer BEAMS. You can also get a cap or longsleeve shirt in the print. So many options.

Buy it here. (Good luck navigating the Japanese website)

Justin BB!!!!
U look effing good.

Honestly I feel very bad for the Japanese tsunami people, but at the same time... THEY GOT TO MEET JUSTIN EFFING BIEBER. Honestly sometimes I feel like my apartment was Earthquaked because I get depressed and turn into a slob. Moon pie rappers on the ground. Empty boxes of Nilla wafers. Pudding containers. Skinny Cow ice cream treats. It's a mess.

Honestly I have been a wreck since my exBF. He made me clean my apartment every day. It was crazy. I guess since then, I haven't been a neat freak because cleaning reminds me of him. But I have heard vaccuuming kills like 400 calories so maybe I'll do it.

Justin is a HUMANATARIEN and more importantly, A HAUTTIE
