Cass McCombs' new album "Dropping the Writ" is out today on Domino. Cass is worth checking out for all of the Paw Tracks+Animal Collective+Ariel Pinks fans, because he's going on tour with Ariel. I think McCombs represents a more accessible style of music than Ariel, where he'll probably be appreciated by fans who aren't into stuff that's "really lofi" or "too out there." But it still provides a lot of depth and texture, with pop appeal.
After the tour dates with Ariel Pink, he'll be touring with Jose Gonzalez.

Dropping the Writ”, an informal term which Wikipedia defines as “the procedure in some government systems where the head of government goes to the head of state and formally advise them to dissolve parliament”, is the first release by McCombs on Domino Records of London.
I enjoy every element of "That's That." Pretty uplifting, textured pop with a bass line that kind of reminds me of a Michael Jackson song.
