Lollapalooza: Alt-nited We Stand

I don’t rlly know who exactly played Lollapalooza, but I did look at some pictures of it on some online website. It looks like it may or may not have been ‘memorable’ and/or ‘meaningful.’

Mainstreamers+festivalBros got rlly mad at alts for ‘taking over the scene’ and attracting ‘a bunch of artists that no1 has even heard of.’

I’m just glad the alts handled themselves with grace and post-post-ironically giggled it off. They also came prepared with headbands and bandanas to wipe up any excess blood.

Kid Sister, also known as Hillary Banks 2.0, looks to have played at the festival. I’m glad she got all dolled up 4 it, instead of treating it like ‘a bunch of nobodies from Milwaukee.’

It seems like festival security was kind of lacking. Some old lady wandered up on to stage after taking too many of her meds. She was in a pair of golden granny panties.

Remember ‘band photography’? R.I.P. He should trade in that lens, and invest in a Canon Party Pic 3000 lens.

I wish I could be young again and know what it means to appreciate modern culture for all of the right reasons. (I wish my parents had the money to encourage me to appreciate the arts when I was a kid. Do u think they got dropped off, or was a parent stuck there in the Dance tent watching bloghouse DJS?)

Lollapalooza set attendance records because there happened to be a MAINSTREAMALTBRO Convention going on in the ballroom of a nearby Holiday Inn.

I’ wondering if postcard/personal picture necklaces are the next cassette tape necklaces. He looks like an earnest guy with a long-term girlfriend who wears a personal memory around his neck.

If I had to wear a postcard/personal picture, I would probably post one of my family.

In a recent EVERY1ISFAMOUS photoset, Kid Sister traveled to Milwaukee, along with Flosstradamus. And OMG! What is Kid Sister wearing?

Do you think she took the small alternative market of Milwaukee seriously enough if she showed up in a floral print pool dress? Do you think she only dresses up for ‘real cities’? When you’re in the alternative entertainment industry, you have to sacrifice comfort sometimes, even if you just went swimming in a Holiday Inn pool, and don’t feel like changing.

I’m trying to diversify my audience, so I guess I’ll blog abt HIPHOP/RAP/Hipster Rap/Mainstream Rap Marketed to Alternative Audiences.

What’s the deal with KID SISTER? I just know she had that one video with Kanye West about finger nails, then that one song with the Count & Sinden about hitting her on her beeper, then she landed her finest music video in a LOGO Online public service announcement to end violence amongst gays, bis, transgendered, and other miscellaneous alternative sexualities.

I wonder why she picked the name KID SISTER.

Maybe it’s because of this new music video, [featuring My Buddy].

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t know if it’s a good idea for a rapper/MC to pick the name of a [highly recognizable] toy that was marketed to your target demographic when they were kids. I think it would kind of be like naming yourself:

Naming yourself after a popular late 80s/early 90s product that had a memorable commercial is a strategy that ‘a local band that every one makes fun of’ might utilize.
