N e ways, the song "Knocked Up" by Kings of Leon is a meaningful song about wanting to have a child with some1 that you love, even though ur young. Not sure if that's a message that I can identify with, but I think it's fun 2 know that in the past, 'raging against ur parents' was by doing stuff like 'getting a girl preggers'+'starting a family without much money.

Since I can only evaluate new artists based on previous artists who sound or look like one another, I figured I should sort of talk my way through Lykke Li. I have felt pretty neutral towards most of her media that I have been exposed to, but I am confident in what I have been told I am supposed to think:
Here's a video that I think does a good job of bottling up her 'essence' into a consumable product.
So does any one know what the deal with Lykke Li is? What's she all about? Should I appreciate her in a Feisty kind of way because she can 'crossover' and be in iPod nano commercials? Or should I appreciate her in an Alanis Morisette kind of way? I think I might be comfortable liking her when she is remixed by some top tier remix artists.
I've also read that she might be an emerging style icon. I feel like if you are a buzzworthy woman who is rising above her alternative celebrity status, there is a 75% chance that you will be regarded as a 'style icon.' This may or may not be known as the M.I.A.-KarenO Theory.

Anyways, I like this song by Kleerup that Lykke Li sings on. Apparently he is a good producer for women, though. This is a good song to get vulnerable to, or to put on a mix CD for a girl to think you are deep and understand her personal needs.

Let's face it. Lykke Li isn't Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston (in her prime). She has a baby voice that is probably decent 4 indie, but unless she puts on a witchy woman costume, shows off some skin, and bangs on shit, half of the crowd is going to leave. Fortunately, she knows this, and she showed off some leg AND banged on a cymbal, and the crowd was probably like HELL YEAH! Even though it is gimmicky and every1 sees thru it, entry level markets really 'get off' to the banging on crap gimmick. It's kinda how the Arcade Fire 'got so famous' [via the Ginger Bro].

I just saw this picture of Lykke Li on the cover of SPIN Magazine. I feel like SPIN hasn't really gone 'all out' Rolling Stone strategy and put Snooki/Jimmy Fallon/Other tweeny celebs on their cover, but maybe that means that they aren't serious enough abt wanting to sell magazines 'by all means necessary.' They put Lykke Li on the cover, and I am not sure if she is 'popular enough' 2 sell units, but maybe they are just trying to say 'we think Lykke Li is popular/will be successful and we want to be famous 4 hyping her.'
Anyways, Lykke Li looks like she is 'show off more skin' than ever these days, which is a GREAT career move for any female in the industry. Our most successful female artists have followed that model, so there's no reason for them to think they can do it any other way. Personally, I'd like to see even more of Lykke's body, but she is still growing as a potential slutwaver + probably getting her body into perfect shape + getting used to showing it off.

Lykke Li may or may not have ever been 'relevant', but I am just monitoring her upcoming album release because there is the chance that she might try to 'ride the slutwave.' Things aren't looking too good, though. She just released some sort of 'deep' / 'metaphorical' album teaser, and instead of just 'getting naked', she tried 2 make it meaningful and artsy fartsy. She's like in the sand, looking for something ,then she takes out a knife and tries 2 shank an imaginary human.
For some reason, this sorta turned me off. It reminded me of homeless people who shank other homeless people, and interact with a lot of imaginary ppl. Not rlly down with homeless waves, even if they have 'a golden radio voice.'

Lykke Li is some singer broad from Scandinavia, I think, and she got a lot of blog buzz, but now she is no longer an 'undiscovered gem' and has to 'bring it' on her new album. I think her gimmick is that she has 'baller ass' producers, then she has a unique lil baby-esque voice, then she just sings girly lil lyrics except in a kinda conceptual way.
No idea if she has a new album coming out or what. Anyways, song is kinda weird and tribal, and in the video she doesn't really 'show enough skin.' Really trying to figure out whether or not she is sexie/bloggable. Can't tell if she is 'hiding' her body in that 1 piece or maybe she is gonna wear a lil bikini for us later.

Think it must be some sort of 'art project', maybe presenting a metaphor about human life, or maybe even aquatic life in the Gulf of Mexico (post oil spill). I have always wondered how u r supposed to pronounce the names of certain bands when they have phonetically challenging names or when they are from foreign lands. It is so weird existing on the internet, and reading the name of a band so much, sometimes without knowing how 2 say it. Was kinda pumped when this guide came along, but then I realized maybe there's no right way to pronounce a band name
